I hate to be that guy, but why would anyone drop in such a way as to be relying on rng luck and thin loot for their immediate survival? Are people that desperate for gunplay (rhetorical question, I already know the answer)?

    @reconzero It gives some a rush. The ones that blow my mind are the ones you are ahead of on drop and there's only two teams but the 2nd team still lands directly on you even tho the poi is large enough they could loot and then fight.

    Personally I'll never understand the hot drop mentality. I get zero satisfaction shooting people that have nothing.

    what is up with the highjack?  If the topic of the thread does not pertain to you, why come in here and criticize others' playstyles and express your opinion on something that is off topic?

    No one plays like me. Irrelevant. And tangentially on-topic.

    If you'd rather not be the apologist for hot dropping then that's okay, but I'm still surprised to hear anyone suggest that it even matters which gun you pick up first. Unless your playstyle is built around a dependence on luck or you're willing to let a stranger you know nothing about determine where you drop. Which is saying the same thing. If I have the wrong idea about this then that's okay. It wouldn't be the first thing I've been wrong about in this game.

    @swift07 Posts will always have little tangents. It is unavoidable when creating a post, and it’s likely to lead back to the original point, with new ideas. I believe it’s a good idea to let most of these run wild, because it lets people agree on one thing then come back to the problem at hand with fresh thoughts. In other words, it’s not life or death if one post is slightly off topic.

    @swift07 Recon has a good point tho. If your off the drop loot is what you blame for death, you've dropped poorly. If people dropped better this wouldn't even be a thing right?

    Whoa Whoa, hang on...I've dropped hot, high tier loot zones, the outsides of the map and everywhere in between. No where you land, and I mean no where you land guarantees you get good, let a lone decent loot. Including the high tier loot zone (blue beam.)  This includes whether many teams drop with you or no teams drop with you. 

    Now to continue on with the original topic....I agree with hayhor, for me worst weapons for me to try and use immediately upon landing = 30 30, and all snipers. I don't mind the mozam. I usually feel some what confident with a mozam in my hand till I find a gun I prefer or am better with.

    @NickBeam27 I would actually take a 30 30 over the mozam. The 30 30 is a guaranteed 42 to the body vs. a mozam where the damage can vary from 15 to 45 to the same area. Usually, I'm not hitting for 45 to the body lol. I can hip fire the 30 30 decently, while I'm strafing. Also, headshots are 74, which is almost half of people's health if they have gray evo shields.

    @hayhorExactly.

    If you drop into a location with 2 or 3 or even 4+ other teams (looking at you Fragments, you sit in your corner you know what you did wrong) and then complain about the leftovers of drop loot, well, then, the drop location and play-style does in fact HAVE A LOT TO DO with being stuck with a P2020.

    I wish there was a tracker for Melee Damage and Kills, cause due to "OMGIAMGOINGTODROPHOTINFRAGMENTSIWILLBENETXTTWITCHPROSTREAMER" kids that Apex kept giving me as squad mates, I bet MOST of my kills and damage were in fact without guns. With no trackers though I can't easily verify it.

    Pro-Tip: Assume the Wraith and Octane you got stuck with will hoover up everything else, and practice with the P2020 in the firing range. In fact, with the new laser sight option, they make decent close range hip fire guns now. Until you get close enough to punch. Cause Wraith/Octane also hoovered the ammo....

    I am finding WAY too many shotguns off drop.  This used to make me happy until I looked at the data my coaching buddy dropped on me, showing me that my actual 1v1 encounter win rate is miserable with shotguns compared to SMGs or ARs.

    @hayhor I didn't want to further derail the subject, but if you land at a POI, there's no guarantee you will get something you like. I've landed on POI's and looted 2 buildings and 6 bins by myself, and I ended up with a P2020 and a 30 30. Secondly, even if you try to land somewhere with less traffic, there's still a chance a team will land with you and you will not have an abundance of time to shop/loot. Second, most people don't want to land far away in some quiet area so they can loot till they get the perfect loadout. It's a shooter game, not a loot simulator. Lastly, if you solo q, then you might not have a choice in where you land, unless you want to drop separately or leave match over and over until you become jumpmaster and your teammates want to drop where you want to. Most people want to drop where there's other teams.

    @pandareno1999 sorry to hear that haha. yeah, sometimes rngesus is not good. I hate getting terrible loot when I need to help a teammate out. I'm not bad with the P2020 or 30 30, but sometimes they're just not the best guns for certain situations lol
