Maybe its changed since the weekend, which was when i last played.
Its possibly a bug because a friend was one shotted from a punch when we landed the other day. Only happened the once though
Also bare in mind its possible to be punched by a second player from behind while you duel someone without noticing sometimes.
I wonder if punching someone has a HeadShot multiplier, that would possibly explain the two punch knockdown.

It doesn't. Still just 30dmg. Either you encountered a bug, got shot without you noticing it and then double tapped with punches or you got double teamed without seeing the other person.
Did you actually see '50' dmg indicator when punching the dude? And maybe his health was already lower?
No, I didnt see the damage indicator.
I think you are correct, I possibly encountered a bug.
