- @dSKyNafinchin You don't get kill credit when your whole squad is dead. The kill only goes to whoever finishes your downed player if you have left the game. If you're still watching then the finisher doesn't get kill credit, nobody does.
- @Marge010 I'm confused, Lmao
I'm trying to understand the question. For your first point, you mentioned that it happens "if you're still watching the squad that killed you and haven't left the game". I believe the "Eliminated" that pops up when you're spectating, would be indicating that the person you are spectating got the elimination? I don't think any kill credit slips through the cracks - @dSKyNafinchin The "eliminated" shows on the screen exactly the same as if you killed someone when you're still alive because you downed that player before you were killed yourself but you don't get kill credit.
Next time you are playing, down a player and then if your squad dies watch what happens when that downed player gets killed (it says on the screen "eliminated") and then watch what happens when the person you're watching gets a kill (nothing is displayed on the screen)
Have you ever wondered why you don't get kill credit for killing a player that's already downed by someone else who has been killed themselves? It's because they haven't left the game and they are still watching. - @Marge010 Ohhh, I was under the impression that when you are spectating someone, any kills that pop up, are their kills, because you are simply spectating their current pov. I definitely do remember a couple situations here and there, where I was thinking I would get my kill, and ended up not. It happens to me so rarely though, that I honestly cant recall, off the top of my head. I'll have to pay attention tonight if it happens, and see if I notice a pattern or anything
@Marge010Can you just save and post a video of this because I do not believe it's true. I don't watch after my team is eliminated but I watch algs and those players that die and then spectate definately don't get their kills.
@Marge010I don't think your spectacting theory is true at all. The player who thirsts gets the credit if the person who downed him is dead, even if you are spectacting.(yes you do get the eliminated msg, but it will not actually add to your stats)
- @BaldWraithSimp If its not true then why sometimes do I not get kill credit when I thirst a downed player after the squad that downed him has already died? But other times I do get kill credit?
This isn't something I've just recently noticed. I've been seeing this happen for a long time. I think its always been the case but obviously not many people notice it. - @Marge010 Again I'll ask.....can we see a video with the events happening?
@hayhorI haven't got a video. I couldn't care less if people don't believe me. I just wondered why it happens but I guess nobody on here realises that it happens.
Also I don't think you understand the point I'm trying to make. Maybe I'm explaining it wrong.
- @Marge010 I've definitely wondered why I sometimes get the kill, and sometimes don't, when I finish someone that another team knocked. I've just never paid enough attention to who is knocked/dead/alive to figure out the specifics. It happens so rarely for me, that I cant picture the chain of events in my head. It didn't happen to me last night, so I wasn't able to see anything.
I'm almost positive that Respawn doesn't let KP fall through the cracks though. Usually, when I finish someone knocked by an enemy, I get an assist, which means they definitely got their kill. I get credit for the kill sometimes, which I always assumed to mean that the team that knocked the player, has already been fully eliminated. - @Marge010 I think I do. Your saying spectators control kills. No one else has realized this in almost 3 years?
It's very hard to capture this because it doesn't happen too often but I've uploaded a video where it shows part of what I'm talking about.
The video shows that I down 2 players. Because I don't quit when me and my squad are killed you will see it shows eliminated twice on the screen for the players that I downed after the player who kills me then kills their remaining player (who was trying to revive his teammate at the time). BUT I don't get kill credit and neither does the player I am watching. The player I am watching only gets kill credit for the remaining player he kills. So that means nobody gets kill credit for the players I downed.
If you see I had 2 kills before I downed the 2 players in the video and at the very end of the video it shows I still had 2 kills.
Now if I had stopped watching after I was killed and I quit the game and if the player killed the already downed players first he would have got kill credit for both of them but if I was still watching it would say eliminated on the screen (as though I had killed them) and nobody would get kill credit.
I will try get another video to show more of this theory if I can.
Ignore the poor gameplay, I'm not that good at this game.
- @Marge010 Good example I think. It even shows you bled out the ones downed even tho you were not alive. Not sure it has always been like that?
Now the only thing we don't know is if that guys teammate fired the bullets that actually eliminated the downed plays which would have awarded the kills to that player and not the one you were spectating. Cause remember, it's the last bullet that gets the credit. - @hayhor It's only shows "eliminated" on the screen for your kills. If you watch any other player it does not say "eliminated" on the screen when they get a kill.
- @Marge010 Yes, if you are still spectating you will get 'eliminated' popups. Which I have always found weird.
Maybe if nobody manually thirsts the downed player, the kill just slips through. What if that bloodhound had went for the downed player first instead of the last guy alive? I believe that should net him the kill.
But yeah, it's gonna be hard to get clips :D - @BaldWraithSimp If he went for the downed player first he wouldn't get kill credit because I was still watching. If I had left the game and then he killed the downed player, then he would get kill credit.
I need to try get 2 videos showing this but it rarely happens so would take a while
