Re: Once again, a broken player. Uninstalled and feeling better...

@MekaSquid I too am considering walking away. I had a horrible night tonight with whole matches where the shots wouldn't register and just go right through the enemies, and cheaters using rapid fire with zero recoil from those cheat boxes.

I'm trying to just play enough to keep my skills up and give them until the start of the next season to get rid of the cheat boxes and fix the hit reg problem, but if they don't have it fixed by then and don't start banning the cheat box users, then I'm just going to walk away and uninstall. If they don't fix this problem soon I can't see the game going on much longer, given how I've seen the gacha jrpg games work, I can't see this game going on another year if they don't fix it.

  • @AymCTL Appreciate you sharing. To be honest, over many of the recent seasons I've had similar conversations with myself.. saying, "ok, just hang in there until next season. matchmaking, cheating have to get fixed by then and it will get better". But, at least for me, that day simply has never come. It just seems to get worse, along with the things you've mentioned. Hope the journey turns around for you. If not, then plenty of other good games out there. Although it may take a while to retrain the muscle memory🙂

@Collector321Sure. The genre of games I play the most are turn-based Jrpgs (Japanese style role playing games), and I play lots of gacha JRPGs such as Epic Seven, Another Eden, Honkai Star Rail, Octopath Traveler, Raid Shadow Legends, etc.

What I meant about my comment is what I have seen happen many times in the gacha JRPG industry is that once people start leaving a game in large numbers the game's days are usually numbered, closing down soon after. I have played several games where the devs do something the players don't like or fail to fix an issue with the game so large amounts of people begin to leave, and soon after they make an "end of service" announcement and shut the game down within a couple months. Usually it's because the devs fail to fix some issue with the game, such as the game Eroica that started out with a buzz among gacha players, but soon had many issues such as bugs, excessive grinding, unfair balance changes, etc that caused people to leave, so the game was shut down just months after this mass exodus of people.

My point was I am noticing the same pattern with Apex Legends, so if things do not improve soon, if the fps industry follows the same patterns as the gacha jrpg industry, the game will not go on much longer unless the devs provide a fix to the problems.

I don't mean to be so negative, and apex quickly became my favorite game when I started it. I actually had no intention of becoming a fps player, someone I know was having issues with people in her club so I installed the game and learned to play just to check on things and make sure she was ok and not being taken advantage of. This problem (it's a long story, lol) ironed out within a couple weeks, so I un-installed apex had no intention of playing again since it's not my genre. However, it grew on me, I kept thinking about it, and I loved the characters and gameplay, and just had to install it and play again since it grew on me. It quickly became my favorite game.

(Sorry for the long winded explanation, lol, just don't want to sound like I want the game to fail, because I really hope things turn around soon, they sent out surveys so I'm hopeful it will)

@MekaSquid Right, the muscle memory thing is a big part of why you really need to play this game everyday to stay in practice. Even if just 30 minutes to an hour when you don't have much time. Even missing a few days can affect your skills.

I'm hopeful that day will come soon since the survey the devs sent out asked about everything on this forum that has been mentioned, and some issues they addressed in season 22 (visibility issues, battle passes problem, the ranked system, adding bot royale) are straight from things they asked about in the survey, so I have a feeling they are going to keep addressing these issues.
