PC stands for personal computer, not "Always Playing Above 60 FPS". I also don't believe aim assist on consoles is set higher because PC's have the capability and/ or ability to run higher frame rates, I would find that odd if true.
I don't know why Respawn chose to have two different aim assist settings directly, but in my opinion I think it was just marketing in the end of things, I'm being totally honest here.
Casual gamers are the driven force with any so-called "Free 2 Play" title in terms of profits. It's also widely accepted that consoles have more casual players than PC's because they are easier to maintain /setup.
So in my eyes the extra aim assist is basically keeping everyone happy, so people spend more. Video games are a for-profit business at the end of the day, nothing to do about integrity or being fair.I'm not at all saying all casuals and/ or profits come from one location, just saying the majority of people that spend are on consoles and Respawn just wants to keep them happy.
- @Popa2caps I actually believe the original thought was lower frames and quality is the reason for higher console aim assist but it wasnt because of PC. There was no crossplay when this came out. It was simply due to poor console performance in general.
- @Popa2caps Unless I'm greatly mistaken, this is exactly the reason Respawn gave for console having a higher AA value. It's not my opinion.
- CCbathwater4 years agoSeasoned Ace@pandareno1999 It all just boils down to... crossplay is a terrible idea. At least with PC.
- @CCbathwater It isnt tho. It allows friends to play together. Issue is people need to blame something for their deaths. Aim assist is an easy target.
- @hayhor Issue is there is a different aim assist.
Really don't care about friends playing together, if it's at the expense of someone else's choice i.e. majority of pc players - Eshshshss4 years agoSeasoned Ace@pandareno1999 Next improvement - give 0.6 AA for all PC players on M&K who lock their framerate to 60 fps via game launch option 😉
I don't know why some console players believe PC= 120 fps or something, hardware specs vary a lot. Half the people in my friend list get 60 fps like me, I find it incredibly daft.
It's not even 60, I have it set to max 60 but in fights it's 45-55.
- @BaldWraithSimp Because all the streamers do. 😉
- Eshshshss4 years agoSeasoned Ace@BaldWraithSimp because if you can afford wasting sorry correct myself there - spending - money on the games that are still in the beta testing phase you should be able to afford a good enough hardware :P :P :P
But yes couldn't agree more + Apex code is so let's put it "unique" that even on 5700XT no matter the settings (all off or super high detail all on) I still get fps drops from 143 to ~90 constantly (sometimes it is when dropping and overlooking the whole map, sometimes it is just looking at a random wall in the building, go figure) and to be honest I was thinking to lock them at 90 or so because in my opinion sudden fps drops are even worse than constantly lower framerate. Still thinking though or hoping that this issue will be fixed soon! - @Eshshshss The waterfall is my biggest enemy, even ADSing in that direction reduces my fps to 35. It's like I am moving at 0.25x speed, can't hit a single shot. Luckily Respawn patched the ring logic on Party Crasher, so it has a slight downtown(the other side) bias.
And I agree, any frame drop above 10-15 is painful from my experience. My gpu is the minimum spec for Halo infinite(I don't want to outright say it 🤐)
