Re: Prowlers ruining stormpoint

@Frosty20203 I think they’re fine and a nice addition to the game to mix things up in pubs. However, they do too much damage and they’re too many of them. I suggest reducing the damage to just 10 and reducing their number and how fast they spawn.

  • Disagree. They are intrusive to the concept of humans competing against other humans. They ruin every battle they affect. With my lousy skills, I have a 5% chance of winning battles. With the monsters involved, I have a 0% chance. The monsters further and unfairly tilt the advantage towards the better skilled players. It doesn’t matter how much damage they do, their mere presence means I am guaranteed to die if enemies are also involved.

I think they are ok in the game.

You can farm them for dmg to increase shields or upgrade some loot. But it is risky as it causes noise and you may not get what you want out of them.

You can use the spiders to advantage by shooting the eggs when a team is under them to cause distractions when they come out.

If you find them to cause you problems the prowlers are easy enough to avoid. Rotate around them.

They are a new thing that you have to adjust your playstyle to.

@Asmodeus566 I’m usually following other teammates. And often we are forced through prowler areas either because of the ring or because of enemy positions blocking other routes or because of being pursued. No one says to themselves “let’s go the long way because there are here”. I instead hope no enemies show up as we pass through the monster areas. Theirs easy to kill, except when a superior enemy player is fragging you. And that’s the point. They’re useless to the game, at best, or ruin my chances in battles, at worst. My stats have plummeted in stormpoint, and the monsters are making it worse. I might try another game soon that sticks to the core idea of humans vs humans.

Are you playing PUBS or Ranked?

Sounds like you are playing with Randoms is that correct?

Try playing with friends and with microphones if possible for better communication.

I play with both Randoms and friends, with friends the coms are better and we can better navigate together. With Randoms the mic is helpful but the others do not always have that  so the ping system has to work.

I have and do when it is tactically sound perform long rotations for many various reasons. To avoid obvious choke points, have a better position in the next rings (so teams have to come to us, not us to them). So yes prowlers can be avoided for the most part if not entirely.

I am playing mostly ranked and for the most part the Randoms I play with have a pretty good game/map sense and they are usually looking for early KP, the win/placement and are very aware of the benefits of proper positioning and rotating on the map require.

  • I think they are okay, but there are too many of them. They should be more like spiders - only coming out if you shoot at the nest (and why do creatures that big live underground lol?)

I think they are OKAY but they are definitely to many. Yesterday I almost died to prowerls + enemys but won even the round which was very unexpected due to the fact that all valk mains (sorry to the good ones tho) are hella dumb and don't wanna use their ulti soooo many times! I died more than many times due to those late ult usages and died EVEYTIME in the ring. Sorry, I digressed. Anyways I hope they reduce the number of the prowerls but overall they are fine imo.

Yesterday I had a game where I alone (in my team) survived to the final rounds. There were two other squads remaining besides me. I was setup as a sniper but had to make a run for the final two areas and there were prowlers chasing me and forcing me to shoot them and give away my location. I eventually lost to a team with one player surviving because the prowlers gave me away. p’d me off.

@Frosty20203The stupid unApex NPC bs is just a 3-stacking pred buff and a nerf to those of us who have to 1v3 through the entire game. But at least it did something to nerf Lifeline's massively op ult that literally wins you so many games on its own. 🤪

Coincidentally I had a random valk yesterday who refused to transport us away from a fast ring in an area where we were being pursued by a team who was outgunning us. The next round was on the other side of the map and we had zero chance of reaching it without the valk’s help. Instead we all were ambushed at a choke point by another team. I tried every way I could to talk to the valk or to get its attention. Totally ignored. Maybe they had no idea how to fly.

It's a simple concept to survive prowlers in nearly any situation if you have the awareness of current situation.

    Identify. Assess. Evolve.

Identify the problem: in a prowler nest while engaged with an enemy.

Assess the situation: ring coming in, one way out, one can make distance between the enemy and prowlers if the opportunity is taken.

Evolve: put into practice what needs to be done to obtain superior positioning. Whether it be using abilities against enemies. Mirage', Gibraltar', or valk' ult. Using grenades and gunplay. Or simply ignoring the enemy letting the prowlers deal with them.

Results may vary due to teammates being 60%-70% of the problem of not abiding to tactical thinking, opting for adrenaline, action, and fighting rather considering what not be done.
