Re: Silenced weapons

@Cro_Pittt with how every audio cue in the game is very important

I feel eliminating the sounds of weapons firing would cause a big issue and would also be very OP.

Imagine getting snipped and not knowing from where or getting lasered by an R-99/R-301 and all you can do is panic and hide while being shot 3 feet away and not knowing because of a silencer.

I DO however support the idea of having a special gun that does low damage (5-15) but doesn't make a sound.

@iBlockHead  yea i can see your point. Maybe as you say only some weapons should have it, or make the silencer last for a limited time. Or they can make it in a way that it reduces the sound by 50-60% , so it can be still audible.

As someone who played Rainbow 6 Siege: silenced weapons are hard to balance.

In R6, a headshot is an OHKO. Doesn't matter if its the smallest caliber pistol or a goddamned shotgun slug. The only thing that would not instantly kill you is a buckshot pellet - and even those hurt like hell.

So you'd figure that in a game where headshot = dead, the health pools are overall much lower (2-3 bullets = dead) and characters / game pacing is overall slower, that silenced weapons would be immensely popular,

They're not. Like, not at all.

Because of a -15% damage modifier, and a silencer means no reduced recoil barrel mod.

Some of you are probably somewhat shocked. After all, in a game where damage matters less (headshot OHKO) and health pools are lower, and everything is slower and more frail, and things like sound are EXTREMELY important....

    ....why are silencers shunned?

All that considered, I would love to see a silencer added to Apex Legends. Make it rare. Make it a choice between less recoil and silence.
