Are you on console or PC? time of day matters also. I find that playing (on PC btw) pre-afternoon, afternoon and before evening, there's more casual players in the lobbbies, whereas at night and early morning there is a lot more amount of "sweaty players"

But even in the afternoon I encounter pro-level streamers. This is on EU pub servers btw. And there are different players on each specific server also, so try nearby servers.

I tried NA servers and there was different feeling there, usually easier (because more player base there).

In the beginning of Apex, season 0,2 and 3 (and possibly in early season 4), there was no matchmaking, it was just random and a lobby was formed when 60 players were found)

But i also die to confirmed 3stack preds sometimes because now they are put into the same lobbies when I solo queue and get level 36 and 345 level squad mates but it is what is I guess

Developers say that they prioritize fast queue times so now there are uneven lobbies by design.

Also with current rank system there are over 1 million masters on all 4 platforms combined, and since you can acquire it so easily, enemies with this badge next season might have same or even lower KDR and ADR than you. Same with season 12 Master badge.

And some times the matchmaking is extremely aggressive, putting me in 3stack master lobbies for 4 games and then I get inexperienced "bot lobbies" for 4 games and then it levels out after that.

I agree matchmaking is really bad, but us players can't really do much sadly ☹️
