- @reconzero I would like them to switch specifically to Unreal Engine. It would be a monumental task, mostly preserving the core mechanics like movement would take a while in itself. Porting Apex to unreal engine would 100% keep Apex alive for their goal of 10-15 years. They can update to the next engine model whenever they want to as well. I hat to be that guy, but Fortnite is literally putting unreal engine into the game, making it so that you can build maps from scratch and import custom models, and use their existing models, like r5 reloaded! I donāt play Fortnite, out of self respect, but I just might if they get this working!

Unreal is where Halo is going. I feel bad for (what's left of) 343, having put all the time and effort into their own engine. Remember back when AAA studios prided themselves on building their own engines? Well, I guess going forward we stop re-inventing the wheel. At least at Microsoft. None of the āAAAā games are anything other than pop music, right now. No substance, all hype.
opening studios doesnāt matter, making a game better does. Look at the disaster Overwatch is, and you can see the path of a trash game direction.
There isnāt any news that this game is either getting better or that a TF 3 is coming out. It doesnāt mean I donāt play, it means though that I donāt take this game seriously or spend money on it.
But it is okay because someone will throw money at this game so I can keep screwing around with it. Come on, you, go buy a skin so I can keep going :D
- @reconzero If they don't do anything meaningful, it won't matter. I want to know what they are going to be working on but expect that Respawn will not tell us.
- @HappyHourSumwur Yeah, I hear ya. I saw the Dev's words on the sound issues. Basically said, that to fix the sound the entire game would have to be rebuilt, as its all embedded in the files. They can only make adjustments within their sound engines parameters. Which only gives them a small window of options.
With that being said, I don't understand why they continue to add so many sounds not needed which bogs down the already stretched thin sound engine, when they know it can't handle anymore.
I mean look at WE, in the old Sorting Factory... the two towers there that have steam spewing values on the two roof tops flooding that entire area with the steam sounds is completely pointless. There are a ridiculous amount - so many sounds they could remove from this game which would take some much needed stress off the sound engine and may help us hear more important sounds needed to hear to play a competitive BR.
So they have a 20 plan for Apex to thrive but know this is as good as their sound will ever be. Pathetic! I would be fine with Apex being taken down for a period of time to fix the sound issues. If they wanna make it better, do it right - regardless what that would be. But they would have to take a little hit on income generated for that to happen so yeah,

At any rate, I read the story and I have to be honest: my initial reaction was fairly snarky. But having had a little time to chew on it I'm coming around to thinking (hoping) that maybe this is the shot in the arm this game (should have got a year and a half ago) so desparately needs. I'm sure it's far too early to say, but feel free to speculate along with me. What does this mean for the game going forward? What meaningful changes would you like to see? What new content would you like see added?
So, they just cut a lot of jobs, and the PvE Apex Project, only to turn around, hire new wet behind the ears devs, for this?

- @BigMacAttack8u Me too, but after they just canceled that and laid off a bunch of folks, I got no hope. Titfanfall 2 (when the servers will let me connect) is all I have left...
