S20 - Everyone's a Silver!

Can someone please explain the reasoning behind pushing everyone to silver rank? I don't understand it. There is no penalty until silver, so "everyone's a winner". I find it a bit nonsensical and promotes a faux sense of accomplishment.

Moving through rookie and bronze has been a poor experience compared to previous seasons. People AFK, or hide, or hot-drop and die instantly in the hope that the team gets point while they ALT-TAB. I know they ALT-TAB because if I rez them they are AFK until the check in on the game again.

More regular team play only really starts at Silver 2 or 1 now.

Really odd decision for a rank mode.
