SBMM is not actually SBMM
Hi I've been playing since launch and this season by far the worst in terms of sbmm I get potato teammates rather than my rank if it does go by skill level and determines your stats in the way that i...
I've said it before and I'll say it again,
it's cause most if not the great majority of good players, they play in duos or squads,
and it's pretty understandable given how massive advantage is to have 3 really good people in one squad..

I'm also of the opinion that Respawn will never fix SBMM or any balance to matchmaking whatsover & whether it's just down to complexities around certain skill level criteria ie KD,kill/death ratio etc or whether it's just down to player count or just the need to fill lobbies but whatever Respawn use it hasn't worked for seasons. For that reason Apex just doesn't feel like an enjoyable game to play now (unfortunately) & many matches just seem to be squash matches where Pred teams can just ride roughshod over us solo queueing team of strangers.Us solo queuers are already at a disadvantage not knowing the calibre of teammates we are being paired up with & with that what their favourite weapons are, landing spots, tactics (whether play as a team or solo player),characters etc unlike pre-made teams have that ready-made advantage in knowing all that & being better organized & playing as a more cohesive unit. But it just seams as though filling out lobbies with pred teams has sucked the life out of the game now.
Respawn have always mentioned previously about looking into SBMM but in truth like many other issues just looking into things usually means just kicking things into the long grass & not actually fixing them (like bottling it when it came to fixing tap-strafing). & so for me a realistic alternative may have to be to ditch Arenas & the server usage it has in favour of either a BR Solo mode or have a separate game mode for solo queueing teams & a pre-made team mode.
I'm pretty sure what has happened over time is that,
people early were just picking up the game than playing it, and you could meet lot of solo good players,
but now:
people have played for quite a long time,
sent bunch of friend requests throughought their playtime,
or found someone to play with,
joined the some community or group where they pick up squadmates,
etc,
and what you get as result is less good solo players, cause that's what's left in the pile...
another reason would be that this game is so demanding/sh*ttily optimised
that some people just don't play it, and some of them could be good solo players..
How come people don't get that matchmaking speed is top priority for mm. Whether you are in a party is 2nd. Then it seems to go by top rank achieved with a mix of long term and short term performance.
@RedmattgameTHIS! I sooo want to solo Q because I don't really have a fixed team until now (since season 7) so I q solo the most time if I can't find any friend who is on T_T
