Season 20 is the reason I deleted Apex Legends forever.

Sorry, EA... You have gone too far with the changes this season. You are getting rid of any chance tje average gamer has of winning, or even having fun. Removing all evo shields only means that now all monster players are the ones who get level ups. I know,  evo harvesters is your answer....Those are so few and  far between,  though. I average only getting to a blue shield this season. I have had way fewer kills, way fewer wins, and 0 fun. Every season before this, my KD was like 1.4. Now it's below 1. I haven't changed how I play, you have changed the game. And....you have never liked snipers and steer the gsme so far away from them. All snipers are so slow and weak. The Kraber...should be one shot as its way tto slow to get a second shot before they find cover. I never pick it up anymore. Vantage? She should be great....but she is the ONLY legend who does not get the full use of her Ult when it reaches 100%. At this point, thank you...I'm out.

You really feel that way? For me, it feels way more balanced, and way less about luck.

You gotta hit a harvester soon as they come up. Open up bins, spot care drops, go slightly out of your way to get a second harvester when you can. You can pretty easily get purple shields by the second circle.

Being able to craft banners really helps this season as well. You can keep your team up and going so much easier now. Both your bot teammates over extended and died immediately, no worries, find a replicator and craft those banners!

Sorry to hear you're not having a fun time, but this has been hands down one of the best seasons since I've started playing. I've been playing on and off since season 4 for reference. The game is harder now, because the skill gap keeps shrinking as people play the game more and more. We still have a cheater problem as well, but that's a different topic.

  • I can fully sympathize with players frustrations with Apex (mine stem back many seasons) & don't blame them for quitting even deleting the game & if it wasn't for the fact that I installed larger hard drives on both my Xbox X & PS5 last year then I probably would have done the same instead I just play a lot less.S20 for me has turned out to be a bit of a flop partly due to the changes but mostly due to the gameplay & what it actually feels like to play. The perk system in certain ways has been one of the few positives to come from S20 but negatives of this perk system just feels unbalanced that has benefitted some characters & made some so OP & other characters haven't really benefitted at all with pretty lacklustre upgrades where Pathfinder seems to have come out the worst.Pathfinder was always one of my mains & is still the character I have the most kills with despite me not playing with him so much for the last season or so  & yet looking at his upgrades compared to every one else just feel like an afterthought.

The crux of my frustrations with Apex aside from the cheating (which is still rife) is with the fundamentals & how the actual game feels & plays like where so many issues make the game feel its breaking at the seams,Server issues, input lag,hit reg problem, stuttering gameplay, disconnections issues, visual clutter, audio issues, match making, match fill problems etc are just some that come to mind that never seem to be addressed or even look like being fixed

I agree for the most part. The new shield system favors people who are willing to die in an early gunfight and punishes the cautious "wait and see" player. Evo harvesters are an annoyance rather than an alternative. In scrub lobbies they are too few and far apart, in more challenging lobbies they're camped and completely inaccessible. I'm sure the net result is lower quality shields across the board and that, in theory, this affects everyone equally. But it doesn't. As you said, it acts as an accelerant for the most aggressive three stack in the lobby.

At the beginning of the season it seemed as if the compensation for all this frustration was a higher-quality loot pool. For the first two weeks I could almost always find my preferred weapons and attachments, and I thought that would be the counter-balance to the perpetual level two shield. And it was. And then at the two week mark it was as if someone at Respawn flipped the switch and the loot pool degraded in quantity and quality to the same disaster it's been for the last few seasons.

Typical mid-game interior conversation now always goes like this:

    Where is my shield: nowhere.
Can I get it up in time for the endgame: probably not.
    Where are my squadmates: dead.
Are there any drops coming anywhere near me: no.
Do I have a tripletake: no.
    Do I have a 2/4 scope: no.
    Why am I here: quit.

I'd say that's three matches out of five. A sane person would have deleted a long time ago. When a game's only real function anymore is to get the player to ask himself, "What's wrong with me?" then that's a pretty bad sign.
