Had what I presume was a duo doing this to me the other day. Hoovering up all ammo and shield cells out of every deathbox they could.
Doesn't happen a lot but it is frustrating.

Not 20. From deathboxes you're looking at about 60-80 bullets per stack so there's no real need to drain the ammo from a deathbox because it eats up so much inventory space. 300+ ammo is a good place to stop, hell even 260-280 is a decent place to stop bcause chances are the next deathbox will have ammo for you to refresh anyway.
People tend to have a "Just incase" mentality to the point where they take stuff they don't need just incase they need more ammo, just incase they need shields, just incase they want to switch weapons etc.. etc.. and it's the kind of mentality that ends up leaving your squadmates with very little to work with.
- I can only say: welcome to apex legends, where the streets are paved with deathboxes filled with no ammo since your greedy teammates take all.
I usually just stop at 180 energy and 160 light or heavy. No firefight is gonna make me deplete that many. Hell I’ve battled multiple squads with 100 ammo and still had some to spare. Other times... not so lucky 😅 unless I have a purple or gold backpack. I hoard everything in that case so I won’t have to loot!
I’ll be like a hitchhiker. Backpack is larger and heavier than me!
