Best I’ve done with a peace keeper is 120ish damage. The slow fire rate makes it a risky gun. R-99 frequently melts me when I run the peace keeper, especially if I don't have a bolt on it. It typically boils down to who gets the first shot off.
@DarthValtrexOr how good the aim is...
@uViolatedTheLaw and it’s not an actual buff. It’s narrowed spread or width of projectile based weapons and I think it was a good update.
Hitting centre mass from 10 feet away at a moving target shouldn’t amount to 20-80 damage. That gap is way too big and that’s due to hit registration not working properly due to servers. Now the PK is much more consistent. If I miss my shot in the middle but still graze a target, it actually connects instead of not giving a damage value
- DarthValtrex6 years agoHero (Retired)@Koochi-Q Aim plays a part definitely.. But I hav definitely landed the first shot for 120 and just did not have enough time to get that second shot off. Granted I can't remember what type of armor I had and what they had, so that could have been factor as well.
- DankToliet6 years agoSeasoned Ace@uViolatedTheLaw by the time they 2shot kill you, all you needed to do was hit all your R99 shots and not miss like a scrub. You deserve to lose if you can't unload against them. Ever try strafing/jumping/crouching so you don't take a full blast? Your tears fall on deaf ears
The PK needed that added consistency. It is after all a shotgun. CQC fights are more enjoyable now.
It can still be outclassed by many with proper distance.
I for one love the update PK has received. Especially with my new Halloween skin equipped. 🙂
- @ColdHours This ^^^. I like PK as well. I think it's a high damage high risk weapon, if you miss your screwed against an R99 or even Prowler.
No automatic is going to beat a quick peeking peacekeeper from any reasonable range, all the damage is front loaded you don't have to expose yourself to return fire by the time you shoot and duck back into cover the enemy will react and start shooting their auto at nothing while you laugh and reload. Get that choke and turn it into a sniper rifle. I don't know what people are talking about here, a choked PK can do 150 damage at 30m (98ft). Choke should probably be removed.
I don't even use the thing much because I don't care for shotguns, but today I just happened to find a full kit in a container so decided to give it a whirl. Here's a screenshot, I don't know about the range but probably around 50m. Bloodhound thought he could ult and run away.
@KilltheismUmmm... false. Go against anyone decent enough with an R-99 or Flatline. Better be true with your shots.
Get melted.
@Killtheism Also the PK is not a sniper replacement. You're just reaching at this point.
@ColdHoursIf you're standing in the open going toe to toe with an r99 or flatline you aren't using the full potential power of front loaded damage that the godly peacekeeper wields. The average person has about a 250ms reaction time, a proper quick peek and fire doesn't give the opponent time to react and return fire that will land, you'll already be back behind cover. It gets even better if you have a choke. You can choke the shot behind cover and quick peek at full strafe speed by not ads'ing while still maintaining that perfect choked accuracy to land a maximum 165 damage headshot.
As for the sniper rifle comment, you can semireliably hit 100 damage at 50 meters with a choke. What do the sniper rifles hit for again, 69, 45(+20beam), 45, and 34? Sure sniper rifles are clearly better for engagements past 60 meters, but that doesn't change the fact that the peacekeeper is still viable hitting 50 damage at a ridiculous 60-70 meters.
