Skull Town is the best Arenas Map

Every other Arena map is symmetrical and the tactics feel so repetitive. You each hold aside and then poke until the ring closes. The fight areas of those maps usually end up being in the same place, because if you get caught out of position you just get sniped.

With Skulltown, I've experienced minimal poking. Close quarters combat is more prevalent as there is so much cover to play around with. I can kill one guy and be low on health and just run into one of the many small buildings in Skulltown and roam around and heal. Whereas in other maps, I would've just got killed by my enemy's teammates more often as there is less cover. Essentially with Skulltown, there are more ways to outplay your enemies.

I've had fights in so many different parts of the Skulltown map because people can scatter around once they are low through the many buildings. This is so much better than fighting in the same spot in every other arena map.

Yea the Map might be a bit advantageous to one side, but I'm honestly tired of the symmetrical maps which promote a very stale and repetitive approach to combat. I hope more maps like Skulltown are made.

As for the complaints of people getting to height first winning, I haven't experienced that much. When that happens, my team usually grabs most of the materials, and then we have better weapons and grenades next round.

Skull town may not be the best-balanced arena map, but it's the most fun Arena map. The main reason being the other arena maps are just Run to spot A, grab stuff, shoot at the enemy in Spot B. Rinse. Repeat. Skulltown, however, promotes much more diverse and frenetic combat and tactics.

  • Hmm that's interesting, I've just found it to be a rooftop race literally every single match I've played, and it seems to be basically whichever team hits the rooftops first wins the round.

    Kinda repetitive.

@MandatoryIDtag Same here. If the other squad has three high-mobility legends they have a real advantage. Down on the ground it's usually a maze and whom bumps into whom.

I enjoy Arenas but all the maps are pretty meh. At least one squad will go to the exact same area every time.

Party Crasher - MV of course!
Artillery - The broken wall via ziplines
Phase Runner - the phase runner in the direction of the ring
    Skull Town - tallest building
  • @EdwardDLuffy  This I agree on, although I haven't tried party crasher yet so I really can't comment on that one.

I think I would've just liked arenas more if it had more of a TDM format.

  • @HeyNameDoesntFiNo poking? Every match I played on it was both teams get on the roof and poke.......just like most other maps. The only one I've found to promote close quarters fighting is thermal station. The last match I played on skully down my team had a combined 9500 damage to think.

@MandatoryIDtag I wish more people understood how great high ground is if played properly. I would get teammates like Horizon and Valkyrie that would just run around on the ground instead of taking high ground.
