Slug shotgun
Curious if anyone would be open to a new slug shotgun, along the lines of the KSG from the CoD series? I know the PK is kinda sorta like this, when charged. I'm talking about a shotgun that only shoo...

A shotgun that doesn't fire rng pellets? Count me in.
As for the shotguns in question. Could simply be a pump n fire to manage fire rate full damage up to like 25-30m with drastic damage falloff after?
@MandatoryIDtag Pump would be perfect. Not sure what the current shotguns' ranges are, but that sounds reasonable to me. Definitely don't want it to the be the OP sniper-of-a-shotgun from older CoD's. I'd even be ok with a range up to 35m. Base fire rate would need to be slow enough, to where it doesn't become OP with a purple choke on it. Maybe a hop-up similar to FMJ, which would allow the slugs to penetrate targets and potentially damage enemies behind the front target, or perhaps penetrate through doors/wondows, although that sounds pretty OP now that I type it out
Shotguns, as they stand, are very weak. This isn't to say you can't get kills with them, but they have mostly turned into early game guns with their inability to really put a cap on people like a shotgun actually should at close range. Too much crying, as usual, and blaming a gun instead of realizing you shouldn't be standing so close to your enemy that you can kiss them.
But sort of the 30-30 is that, isn't it? And I have to say it's pretty good at what it does. I would run with that. If anything got added to shotguns, it'd be straight damage for most of them (the PK, and weirdly the Moz, are ok). The Mastiff, even with the double shot, is hot trash.
I would not mind seeing an energy shotgun. Which I know would be weird...and, the PK is that. Something that uses energy ammo though would be a little crazy and nice. And maybe do that thing the havoc used to do as a firing alternative, but instead of making a steady damage over range beam, do a beam that has huge short range damage and a lot of fall off damage at range.
The 30-30 is choice, though. Feels good when you get dem hits. One of the silver linings of this game of squirt guns right now.
- @KelRiever I'm not sure about an energy shotgun, personally. I wouldn't mind an energy pistol (someone on here suggested it previously), but a shotgun should stick with shotty ammo, imo. I liked the Havoc select-fire, but since we already have the PK that has a sort of alternate fire, I would prefer to see just a straight-up slug shotgun.
The 30-30 is definitely powerful when you hit shots! I have picked it up a few times, and was pretty surprised at how well I did with it!

Interesting that you say this. The recent findings from data miners about the potential upcoming hop-ups show us that internally, the PK is called "energy shotgun."
Yes please. Love slug shotguns in Destiny 2, would love to see them in this game where they have a more realistic view of shotgun ranges.
