Slug shotgun
Curious if anyone would be open to a new slug shotgun, along the lines of the KSG from the CoD series? I know the PK is kinda sorta like this, when charged. I'm talking about a shotgun that only shoo...
I'm not sure I would like a slug shotgun, in the games Ive seen that implemented this they are just done wrong, they get longer range with good precision, while the real thing gets range and insane pen force but wildly inaccurate at range.
Already the PK got some wild range when used correctly with the choke though.
In general I think all shotties work fairly well (however personally I cant get the eva to work as it for sure dont fit my prefered playstyle), but as a secondary weapon. There is two ways of using a shotty, either as a CQC initiator to follow up with an smg or ar or as a finisher after you empty the smg or ar (i prefer the first). Shotties however require that you aim correctly for the shotty to get the proper damage out of it, and this also differs based on the legend you play as they have different heigh profiles, but the shooting range can really help you to make your shotty work your way 😉
Wouldn't "slugs" be just a different type fo shotgun ammo to pick up? You wouldn't need a new gun for that surely.

In the most realistic sense, yes. My Mossberg 500 with the field barrel can run both slugs and shot, and has a choke I can swap out (Improved Cylinder or Modified, both allows slugs but I get better groupings with the IC choke).
However, I own 3 barrels for that same gun. The field barrel, as mentioned (aka a "general sporting use" barrel), a "Security Barrel" (18.5 inches as opposed to 26, no choke at all, though back in the 80's when I hunted with my Grandpa they called those "brush barrels" which just goes to show how "tacti-cool" has taken over gun marketing), and a dedicated "slug barrel" with rifling and a scope mount.
My best 50 yard grouping with slugs and the field barrel with IC choke is 4-1/8 inches, within 1-2/8 of the center.
My best 50 yard grouping with slugs and the slug barrel is 2-7/8 inches, within 3/4 inches of center.
So, while it would be simple to just add slug ammo and allow people to swap between slug and shot, realistically, one dedicated slug gun would not be unheard of. Though having an animation where you change the barrel with the ammo type on one could be cool as heck.
@hayhor-- Indeed. While I can go a good 50 yard grouping, regardless of what the boxes claim, I have a hard time even getting foster slugs on paper at 100 yards, which is easy for the game (and real world) 30-30. You can do it with Sabot slugs, but I am not paying the prices of them NOW when pre-pandemic they were $3.50 a shot.
