I'm pretty sure there are aimbots that work by reverse engineering the aim assist, but aim assist alone is in no way an aimbot.
My only negative statement about aim assist is that it does not belong in pc ranked lobbies. We have a major movement advantage while they do get their aim assist which for me throws off-balancing of the competitive game mode where i feel no one should have advantages over others in a pc ranked setting. Pubs and arena I do not so much care until a ranked version of the arena comes out my stance will still stand they do not belong in our ranked lobbies. Other than that though I see no harm with it sometimes I am rolled sometimes they are rolled it's all about who shoots first.
- 5 years ago@E9ine_AC Console players should get the same aim assist as a PC player in PC lobbies. It's unfair even for a PC controller player.
Some people will try to use '50 fps' as a argument for better aim assist, which ofc is a ridiculous argument. You are responsible for the quality of your own hardware, comig from someone playing on a potato pc. - hayhor5 years agoHero@BaldWraithSimp Consoles dont have the option to up their fps tho. I have a ps5 and apex limits me. I want more frames but cant.
I'd be fine if the aim assist was turned down to PC for all but I'd prefer they just do it all the time. I wouldn't want to have to change things depending on who I squad with. I'd still die just as much due to poor movement and lack of awareness anyway. - 5 years ago
@hayhorDoesn't matter in the slightest, my point is getting low fps isn't a argument to justify getting any kind of advantages.(like justifying why console players get higher aim assist than a PC controller player)
- hayhor5 years agoHero@BaldWraithSimp Has respawn ever confirmed that is the real reason? The settings were there before crossplay.
- 5 years ago@hayhor Respawn has never said anything on the matter, it's the players that use the fps argument and I know some devs are gonna use it too if they ever address it.
There is a reason why PC gets 0.4, for balance reasons imo. - 5 years ago@BaldWraithSimp values like these usually come after extensive testing. We actually provided data for them, they gathered tons of values from all the platforms before enabling crossplay.

I don't know man, console AA being stronger says otherwise.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@BaldWraithSimp You missed his point. His point being that console players need the extra based on actual data.
- 5 years ago@hayhor What data exactly again? I honestly don't see any data that would lead to that conclusion.
- hayhor5 years agoHero@BaldWraithSimp Well before cross-platform they could likely see accuracy of shots. After cross play when players are mixed they can see fight win rate and lots of other things between console and pc. Perhaps console players don't dominate pc lobbies like some believe with all their hearts.
- 5 years ago@hayhor never claimed console players dominate. AA on PC has been the same and I don't see any one asking for increase, so there is no reason why console should get higher AA regardless if they dominate or not.
I have made the same point multiple points in this thread, I rest my case on this topic.
