I play Apex with my brother and the experience is worse than solo queuing. It really is only enjoyable for us to play together about 20% of the time. I just don't understand why Apex can't tell when we get rolled 10 or even 15 times in a row. Last night was particularly bad...at one point my brother had 3 kills in 15 games and just quit playing after that.The game must automatically put you in a higher lobby when in a pre-made party of 2 or 3 because we are almost always way out of our depth. We are both 0.6 KDR players working on our comms and on breaking bad habits from other FPS's. We know what we are but we really can't get any reps when we die so quickly in our first gunfight almost 3/4 of the time.

@HappyHourSumwur Unfortunately when in a premade you get prioritized into lobbies with other premades and better solos. It can be brutal.Are you playing duos or trios. If duos I'd stop doing that. Duo premades is the sweatiest thing there is. Me and a friend take out chances with random 3rds as we can 2v3 more normal lobbies more often than do well in duos.

@HappyHourSumwur I agree ranked is way more difficult now compared to before. Smurfs are everywhere in bronze-silver too. Hope that they do some changes for ranked. I want them to increase the level requirement to at least 50 and have an overhaul of the RP system.

@HappyHourSumwurHonest question: Where do you think you rank in regarding skill in the ENTIRE community, percentage wise.For reference, the average player is at the 50% mark. What percentage are you?Furthermore, what do you think an “average” player’s performance and outcomes should be? The average player currently wins about 3-5% of their matches. I would argue that having a KD of around 1 is what the average player has. But the game is complex and overall skill isn’t directly captured by one stat.I ask these questions to many people because it forces them to consider how SBMM “should” work in their mind.I know people that think SBMM should be looser in pubs, where players of all skill play each other and the better players have better outcomes. Conversely, I know people that think that everyone should always and only play their current equal; these people believe players should all struggle equally at all times regardless of skill.What are your thoughts?

There isn’t enough premade squads at your skill level. Premades are placed in lobbies with other premades with sprinkled soloQ players to fill duo premade squads (that’s a lot premades lol). As I’ve mentioned before in another thread, these premade lobbies generally has mostly plat-diamond level players. This is where I play most of my games since I play with my friends 90% of the time. And if ever kill a sweaty 3 stacking preds or masters, toxicity suddenly fills our bodies and it’s time to teabag. LMAO.

Get steamrolled 10-15 games in a row isn’t that bad honestly.

I only play the top 4% of players in pubs, because SBMM actually is working and putting high ELO players together.

Nevertheless, I often go 100-150 games in a row with no wins and or low damage. It’s a product of being above average but not good enough to compete exclusively with Masters/Preds.

No way a 0.61 lifetime KDR with 315 damage on average is in that category. If I am, I just can't see any way to break through that roadblock because I get abused & melted so often. It isn't that I die, it is that I die so quickly and so humiliatingly that really gets under my skin from time to time. It is incredibly discouraging and decidedly not fun when the Apex slot machine decides to do that to me.

I typically suggest that people in your situation exclusively play ranked. You will definitely see Smurfs, but the amount of highly skilled players will be far less than in pubs.

@Axs5626Sxa5001 I'll think about it but I tried ranked for the first time this season and it was worse. I got to Gold IV solo queue before I just quit and went back to pubs.

Watching conversations here and on reddit, it sounds like this season, at least, is extremely rough in the lower ranks.

@pandareno1999 Honestly, Bronze was worse than Gold. I tried it thinking I'd have a shot and got absolutely obliterated in my first match. Rolled up on by a team that literally didn't miss shots. We died in milliseconds. Was pretty much that same thing all the way into Silver where it got a little better.

The smurfing was absolutely horrible. No WAY real noobs are that good.
