Someone care to genuinely explain to me the physics behind Bangalore smoke?

Nah seriously though, bangs smoke is a real butt pain. It all depends on crap like distance from the smoke etc. It's hard to explain really but if you have a play around with it you'll see what I mean.

It's been pretty sketchy ever since that change when they made the Switch port.  They reported fixing it, but Bangalore smoke and Caustic gas clearly do not consistently function quite the way they are supposed to.  What I have noticed is that lighting (specifically, the direction of) has a strong effect on visibility.  If you're on the right side of the smoke, you can see pretty well.  I find Caustic's case to be worse, because the highlighted vision one is supposed to have in the gas seems to only function sporadically.

@Peri_Longbow_plz The weapons you described (not so much the r301) are what I would spray into smoke until I start to see dmg being done.

That's a really good point.

The issue for lack of a better word, has always been there with bang smoke, the issue that @pandareno1999  mentioned just heavily exasperated it.

What your enemies will be seeing is a flash of your silhouette, which is just enough to track your movements. I'm not sure if it can be manipulated as the criteria of distance etc seems to just change at random. I think the time the smoke has been active also plays a big factor.
