There are 2 problems with your argument
1. Sniping is part of shooting so that counts in what im saying, the average player likes to shoot whether its snipe or shotgun or whatever they like to fight. If you cant find anyone there is no one to snipe in the first place so it doesnt really matter your playstyle the problem is the ring
2. You contradict yourself in your own post. On one hand "many like to snipe" according to you, and yet "sniper rifles are not being picked up that often" which means that sniping is not that popular. So which one is it?
Its actually very easy to understand, if sniping is not rewarding or extremely difficult to do due to ring moving too fast people will not do it as often.
Another example, I like to win and I like to snipe, if I win 1 out of 10 times with a sniper riffle and 5/10 with an automatic riffle I would probably use an automatic riffle more often than not.
Matches already last around 20-22 mins, how much shorter do you want them to be? By your logic you can just drop everyone in one room full of guns, instant gratification no strategy just shoot em up rinse and repeat. I wonder which ver. of the game will have higher replayability. . .
