I agree. I'll never finish the BP at this rate so I haven't bought it this season. Played 3 hours this evening and got 1 level. I played once a week last season and got to level 60-something no problem, no way this will work now. I don't have the time to grind this out.
Respawn is trying to retain players with what they're doing but it's doing the opposite. The whole point of gaming is entertainment, to have fun. Unlocking new stuff is part of that fun. When you force your playerbase to play, just for the sake of staying up to date with the challenges, even when they don't feel like it you end up driving them away. It creates resentment towards the game and it literally sucks all the fun out of the experience. People will start feeling burnt out real fast.
How many players haven't left already due to server issues like getting shot behind corners, or the audio issue that still hasn't been fixed? Or the overly aggressive SBMM that is still an issue to this day? Get one good game and suddenly you need to fight against preds and 20 kill badge players? If the game is geared towards bad players, as many people claim, isn't what they've done up to this point counter productive? Casual players simply won't have a good time. And if most of the playerbase are casuals why would you do anything to make them leave??
People have options and if Respawn wants this game to survive they need to make it friendlier to casuals. Fix the BP, fix the matchmaking, fix the audio, and maybe one day upgrade the servers. They'll have more success in keeping players around if they can give players a better experience overall, give them a reason to want to play, don't force them to.
