Store Overload this Event

So this collection event not only do we have a bunch of new skins, but they also released the new Lifeline Lore skin & an under the radar Wraith skin. Like I get having an alternative if no one likes the event skins, cuz they do that every event, it seems too much this time especially with the overpriced LL skin & all the extras there. Like what if someone wanted all of it but couldn't afford it? And doesn't wanna wait forever for these skins to resurface. Cuz let's face it they don't cycle these skins equally & some have yet to return since release even tho they may have been just a recolor.

I seriously wonder if all these companies are in touch with what's going on in the world sometimes. Prices are going up on everything, shortages on stuff you'd never imagine we'd be short on, but yeah let's overload the store with all these skins.

This is halfway a rant but does anyone get what I mean lol?

@Lord_Scorpion34Maybe the because they know events draw the most people that is why they make sure to flood the store. More people see stuff and they are more willing to buy.

But again... Timing. The economy is in the crapper as a whole right now. Not just 1st world, but everywhere due to the constant string of events happening. We're practically in a recession. Do you think people are gonna be inclined to spend more when gas is sky high? Sure this is an issue for some more than others but I think it's poor timing. They've never had it this stacked during an event to my recollection. And Idk about most people but I check the store every week so how does putting even more crap in the store in one 2 week period entice you more? I'd rather have it spread out than dumped all at once.

@DarthValtrexof course that's key. And I don't ever go for heirlooms plus I have enough shards to get it if I really wanted to. This is more so looking at things from a wider perspective & seeing what others are going through.

  • @Lord_Scorpion34 If you're feeling tempted to spend more money than you can afford, then you might want to set a limit on your spending:

I also feel tempted, but I do my best not to go over board. I tend to assess all the things I might like to buy, and then only buy 1 that I really like and only occasionally.

I also know that this game exists in the way it does to make money from loot boxes and microtransactions. It's a deeply flawed type of game, though I still play it. I know that the developers are constantly trying to manipulate me into spending my money on this stuff.

I don't need an heir loom. I don't need to be a completionist when buying things. And although there are a lot of snazzy skins I will do my utmost not to get tricked into wasting too much money.

@Lord_Scorpion34 But that's the thing- Most people don't check the store weekly because they don't log in. Player numbers have been plummeting. The event brought people back so they went for a massive sale.
  • It would just figure that they ran through a ton of recolors I would really like to have gotten when I was out of tokens.  Now that I've got some amassed, they give me the choice of a very unimpressive Mozam recolor.  Sigh.  I spent about $75 to get the Valk heirloom, so I'm honestly not even tempted by the other offerings for Apex coins this week.

  • @hayhor Well maybe they need to use all that data they have to figure out why numbers are plummeting. They can start with fixing Ranked & their servers for one. I think Control is what brought people back. I'm sure seeing that they will make it permanent next season.
