@KelRiever Standard console player: Turns on console, plays game.
Standard PC player: Turns on PC, 10 different things need to update, Firewall now interfers with game, needs fixing before playing game.
PC player tells console player how many frames, etc. he runs game with, then proceeds to turn every graphics setting in game to low or off before playing game.
Preach it, I am done with the maintenance gaming on PC requires. I had enough when EA's Sim City 3 couldn't run any more because Microsoft discontinued whatever dll the game needed to run. Bro? I'm playing the game. Gave up and deleted after 1 month of no solution provided by EA. Haven't played a game on PC since. Dogwater system. And then we have the cheating and/or mod issue ontop of that.
Side-note: As Apex is completely unplayable currently (fix Mixtape!) I've been playing other games. Like Tiny Tina. And the first thing the game did was asking me if I wanted frames or graphics, and I was like, okay, let's try, this is what them PC's always rave on about... played for 1 minute, went to options, chose graphics... much better gaming experience.

I hear ya, PC gaming is an Art, it takes work, you can't just turn on a game and play.
You need to, or you should tweak Windows
Install and adjust video drivers
And the list goes on, but, take it from a gaming geek, and I mean, I've been PC gaming a very long time, if you get into it, then you shouldn't run into problems, or that often. But you also have to build a good gaming PC with good parts.
I built a gaming box last year, Rog Strix B550F-Gaming, Ryzen 5 5600X with an EVGA 3080 FTW3 ULTRA, and it's been purring like a swiss watch, and all the games I play, Zero Issues.
Sure console gaming is less problematic, but you're never going to get a console game looking like NextGen high end gaming PC hardware, which is now 4090 level...
Don't give up, if you want to play extreme ultra next gen settings with games that are ultra realisitic.
HEY, I've modded out Skyrim, presently have over 300 mods on it, and I have it looking like a 2023 NextGen extremly realistic looking game, it would blow you away, how real I have it looking. 🙂
- @AnyBrains for example I don't need an extremely realistic-looking game, I just want to have fun, compete and a decent gameplay, that's who I am. but apparently all I got from playing Apex on a PC was a bad experience at all.
@AnyBrainsYes I never understood the “pc needs so much maintenance argument“ we are not living in 1990s anymore i bought my pc a prebuilt msi rig about 6 years ago with a 1080ti and the card was enough till this year and could probably still go for multiple more years… not just that but it ran apex easily on above 120fps constantly no issue… a card that is 6 damn years old… i put a 3080rtx in it this year and that’s all I changed by now and I can run everything on high-max settings no problemo. There is nothing that needs to be manually software eupdated everything happens automatically nowadays.
I wanna play Zelda a link to the past ? No problem.
I wanna play Pokémon red ? No problem
I wanna play resident evil 1 directors cut ? No problem. I wanna play lord of the rings battle for middle earth ? No problem… with magnificent fanmade bonuscontent that include many more factions etc(btw ea please remake this game thank you very much)
No matter what I wanna play no matter what console or what ever it’s from I can do it…
Thank you for mentioning modding, consoleplayers usually seem to not understand what a magnificent thing modding is… fancreated content from players for players ends up often far superior to what the games where intended to be.
Just stuff like morrowind brought to our time with great qol changes and graphics brought to our time, just perfect…
Zelda a link to the past randomizer, a whole community is built arround randomizers nowadays for so many games even showing up on gdq every single year…
Not to mention that entire genres are almost nonexistent on consoles like strategy games and mmo‘smuch of the whole coming together and play/hanging out in discord/teamspeak and talk etc all of that is barely existing.
i sincerely feel sorry for every consoleplayer that never expierienced pc gaming, they barely scratched the surface of gaming wich is a shame
