@Cheese9Man You say the game was designed with diversity in mind . . but isn't that just complete rubbish? Its just a game. Its not offensive as such, I just don't think this is the place for it. this game is not racially or sexually offensive, but when they start making the game a celebration of diversity, for me, it starts to get a little annoying. I've had enough of riots and protests and cancel culture and just want to play a game like this. Ok, a pride flag isn't the worst thing to ever happen and I wont be uninstalling the game over it, I just feel that the direction they are going isn't going to end well. To avoid having to draw a line they should just remain neutral in my opinion. What's the next step? When there are 4 causes someone feels strongly about but they can only equip 3 badges? Are people going to start to complain about that?

I'm not saying that "the politicization of everything" is a good thing. But:
Thankfully (or not depending on your pov) Apex is not a public space - it's a privately owned space which the public is free to use within a few basic decency guidelines. And the owners continue to demonstrate that they value diversity and openness. Is the table really so small that we can't pull in a few extra chairs for groups which, let's not forget, have historically been marginalized? If you need me to spell it out for you: "marginalized" is a euphemism for disenfranchised, disinherited, disowned, fired, censured, jailed, humiliated, beaten, and murdered. I'm not saying that all of that happened to every member of the minority, but much of it happened to a lot of them. You could look it up. If a badge in a video game goes even some small way to making the future look a little less like the past then all of us are better off for it. Not something on which I personally want to "remain neutral." And I'm pleased that Respawn doesn't either.

- 4 years ago@reconzero Well explained man. If only I can give more than 1 XP. Though I’m not part of the LGBT community, I have friends and patients that are part of this minority and experience unnecessary and undeserving consequences just because of their gender.
I still don’t get why the Western world views this LGBT issue as a political issue?- Kyldenar4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Cheese9Man >> I still don’t get why the Western world views this LGBT issue as a political issue? >>
The answer lies in the fact that fundamentalist Christian churches (full of people that are in actuality very poor Christians) are allowed to spew politics from the pulpit and retain their tax exempt status.
