I do not understand the need get up close and trade damage face to face with the opposition. Of course there are times when it is required but it seems to be standard procedure... Maybe I'm thinking too hard, the competitive nature in me I guess.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@RaisinFlakes Up close fighting is fun. There is an art to damaging and moving in tho that most people ignore.
You are right, if you avoid most close fights you'll let the lobby kill itself and have a better chance of winning. It's just some of us don't care about winning that much.- 4 years ago@hayhor As much as I love Apex, THIS is my biggest criticism of BR.
Inactivity often rewards more than activity. This (in my opinion) is a facet that detracts from its competitive integrity as a shooter.- reconzero4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Axs5626Sxa5001

Speed is one factor that can add to the competitiveness of a game, but this game doesn't remove speed from the equation. It asks the player to make a judgment about the necessity of speed, or even about the wisdom of speed. Players seem to exercise the option rarely enough that I'm not sure it's fair to suggest that it detracts from the games competitive integrity. In fact, I would say the opposite. Patience is a skill, after all, much as it might pain the average Apex player to admit it.

I am neither terribly good at nor terribly interested in poke battles. I rarely take a gun with better range than a 301. When my team is sitting up somewhere taking potshots, for an extended time, I'm usually just crouched behind cover waiting for the opportunity to close the gap. I play frequently with a buddy who loves his snipers. I find it frustrating, mostly. Very rarely do his efforts lead to winning a team fight. He might get a knock that we're in no position to capitalize on, usually, unless I've been able to work out a flank to do so.

@pandareno1999This is perfectly said. The nonstop poking and healing is why I can't stand arenas.
- 4 years ago@RaisinFlakes Being confident in your squad’s ability to push sometimes bring fear to people who keep sniping.
1. Sniper kids only has 1 gun when up close.
2. I’m a Gibby main and if we’re going to fight 1v1 I’m always gonna win if I don’t miss my shots. Fortified perk + gun shield = success.
There are countless ways to win in this game not only third partying and poking mid-long range. This is one of the reasons why I love the game. I suggest watching streamers in masters/pred and observe when they’ll have to push.
I guess I forgot to mention that I’m always in a pre-made squad and attacking the other squad is a unanimous decision so we’re all in the same page. There are a lot of variables that can go wrong too.
- As a Gibby I’m useless attacking your squad without a mobility legend teammate.
- You approached the squad and POI incorrectly.
- There are multiple teams in that POI. This is where a recon legend comes in handy.
- The squad you attacked is just better than you.- 4 years ago
Very true and a good tip to improve your game sense and get a win

100% agree. The farther away I can stay while doing damage, the less likely they are to be able to damage me back. I absolutely love it when I'm frying some kid with a charge rifle and he's trying to decide which of his guns will work better at 100 meters, shotty or r-99. - 4 years ago
@RaisinFlakesyou have to plan ahead and the best or only option might be to push a team. You should play confidently in CQC, but if you're not...you should practice it more. This is the reason why I don't get as upset at randoms, when they're playing aggressive or land hot, they are getting better at CQC, as am I. Although, I do wish they would communicate or have some kind of plan when they do it. If you spend most of your time sitting on some hill with your sniper, you will not improve on this game. Eventually, the circle will get small enough where you will be in close quarters, then your sniper could become useless and you are left with one gun to use.

Once we see a squad with 3 snipers (especially a charge rifle), you’re getting aped. 😂
- 4 years ago
@Cheese9Manfor sure lol. Charge rifles definitely need to be aped. They will have only one gun for close quarters and it might be a rifle vs. me, with AR and sub.
