We are getting ground emotes!

Yes, the animations that we saw in the GamePlay trailer today were not just for the victory screen, but several content creators (that playtested the update) confirmed that ground emotes will be coming to Apex Legends.

  • Every legend will get 1 for free (source). The Wattson one seem to - ahum - spark the most interest. You'll be able to plant permanent Nessies on the map with it.
  • At some point in the history, the devs told us we would not be getting any dance emotes like Fortnite, but here they (kind of) are. And honestly, seeing how good the animations have become over the past seasons, I don't mind getting them. I don't think they will be as present as with other games, but just some fun things to do instead of crouch spamming.
  • From the gameplay trailer we can deduce that we can use the emotes in the victory screen.

Also, people on Twitter confirmed that the emotes will be played in 3th person. It will have a mechanic that does not allow you to peek around corners.

    @DYSPROssium Awesome! This is something they needed to add. And the ready area in Arenas is a perfect spot to goof around with them too like people do in Overwatch.

    In GW2, we use this as taunting the enemies on top of their dead body (death box for apex), especially if you're Chomper !

    You challenge them to come and get you, if they dare.

    @asukojo Indeed BUT GW has always been about randomness & fun. So the laugh with the chomper was always in good and belonged there.

    In Apex, I really don’t see it blending in... I’ll wait until the final countdown has passed and I can actually see but not liking it... whereas the victory one I do like.

    Well instead of t-bagging deathboxes you could do victory poses, but they’ll be the same whereas t-bagging is unique. Some do it fast, others slow, some ramp it up while others dial it down etc... xD

    @asukojo Well the last time I did that I ended up in jail for 8 years ☹️ luckily I haven’t spend a day in tho... XD

    @BaldWraithSimp ppl will definitely do that. Especially with the nessie pluche being on the ground everywhere and most likely surrounded by fences.

    THE ONE THING I DID NOT SEE IS:
    Where are the preview details about €^#^~? hologram liking when the €€^#£¥ thing is 300m away behind multiple obstructions and you can’t see it but you ping that general direction and you £>}]€• like that €%}>!, and cant even ping where you want to ping because of that €}{^¥€? hologram! That £#}]£• needs to ^{}>¥£ ^{{%€¥ peeeeeeeeep

    @DarthValtrex I hate holograms... That liking either needs to go or it should have a max range... or should at least be visible to like it... and directly pinging it... not in a radius of over 30m in that general direction

    Soo looking forward to the emotes - if anything to go by the fly down emotes this is going to be fun. 🙂
