What is this, a competitive first person battle royale shooter or an RPG.What is going on with the frame rate. On my PC I would play at above 90 FPS (everything mostly low and/ or off) on a GTX 1070. The frames feel really bad on Series X. Just odd frame skips or something, feels clunky and/ or has weight if that makes sense.If people thought aim assist was an issue on PC, holy crap, stay far away from consoles. I played on PC for over 1100 hours with mostly a controller. This feels worst then Halo does with aim assist.

@Popa2caps You sound like you are used to a very high framerate on PC, I have never seen frame skips on Series X with this game. I came from Xbox One S which ran Apex horribly. Constant stuttering, average 45-50 FPS with dips into the 30s, super blurry so very hard to see people at distance, altogether a frustrating experience.The move to Series X solved every single one of those, even the stuttering which at first I thought might be a connection issue, nope it was just the old hardware couldn’t handle it. I have never seen the framerate go below constant 60 (the counter says 59 for some reason but it is def 60), except for one time in firing range I did Bangalore + Gibraltar ult at the same time while throwing thermite to stress test, it dipped into the mid 40s then went right back up. And that situation is unlikely in the majority of games...I can also play with maximum FOV with no issues where I had to keep it at 70-80 on One S to keep my framerate somewhat stable.Series X is the best way to experience Apex on console and they haven’t optimized it yet so it will hopefully get better.

@Popa2caps It depends on what you mean by runs better. The series x is running it in ultra settings at 60 with the max fov. Why would you not run at higher settings if it make no difference like it does for me. I find it much more enjoyable to play with the best visuals you can rather than the quality I see on some streams and YouTube videos. And let’s be honest about the aim assist it doesn’t give you his aim and doesn’t stick to people. @MyName1sNotJohn Yeah these jitters are mostly during battle. On my PC everything works during a fight, not very much of an issue. On Xbox Series X it's off and on sometimes. Micro stutters is what I could call it. I have yet to see any other game feel like this on this new console. I wonder if I can capture it from the system itself. I'll try next time it starts and try to show an example.It's like someone locking up my frames right when I get shot or something. Like a massive jolt, then it's off. It's true I did play on PC for a long time, but no way I'm confusing this with high refresh rates as my monitor is still only 60 hz (60 hz = 60 FPS) and I use the same monitor for both my PC and Xbox Series X.

@Popa2caps I mean maybe I’m not noticing because of how smooth it was compared to my old one but I really haven’t noticed micro stuttering and that is exactly what I called it on the old Xbox..my game would stutter for a split second every 30 seconds or so, and in heavy battles I would get huge freezes up to almost a second, impossible to win 1v1s like that, anyway that is absent now for me. I do see animation skips sometimes but that isn’t something that affects gameplay for me

@MyName1sNotJohn I uploaded this video to show in detail more on what I see in Apex Legends on the Xbox Series X. I get this all the time on the system. I mostly notice it on Pathfinder because I'm always flying around. Sometimes I get this stutter while I get shot. Not always, but it happens.

@MyName1sNotJohn I want an optimized ps5 version. Fortnite has already done it. The new COD tdm game runs at 120 fps. Warzone actually got a boost on the new xbox but not ps5. I believe Apex will eventually but with everything in this game they seem to prefer keeping things hush hush.

@hayhor I hope y’all get an optimized version. From what I know about PS5, certain games it is not possible to optimize due to the way you guys have backward compatibility sorted out, so I know we have Rocket League and Warzone 120fps options but you do not which is unfortunate. I hope more options are given for Apex next gen across both platforms.

I don’t believe Apex was a super optimized game for last gen (the bois at Digital Foundry considered the base Xbox One/S version to be the only platform where you are at a disadvantage compared to others, I can confirm), Respawn has work to do in that department but considering next gen hardware I believe it is certainly possible. They’re not bad at optimizing, Titanfall 2 on last gen was awesome and I can barely notice a difference on Series X, but a BR with huge map and non-cartoony art style i feel was a challenge for last gen. But I have fingers crossed that they will come through after Switch version is out since that is the next major platform release.

So I came from one x to series x and I also am having issues with losing frames all together i would say as well as very inconsistent response times not just for firing but also for aiming. I expected it to make my game better on Series x but Im actually considering hooking the one xback up just for Apex. And btw as far as pc vs xbox popularity I agree. I hardly ever get grouped with randoms from xbox but almost exclusively pc/ps users.(And I play 100% with randoms.) Turn off cross play on xbox and you will be permanently stuck in queue.
