What constitutes a perma-ban in apex? (from toxicity)

I know this has been a question that has been answered countless times but please do hear me out.

I was issued a suspension recently over a dispute I had with a random teammate, in which he called me the n-word and in the heat of the moment I returned with a homophobic slur. This being my first ever EA game, and the first time I have ever been issued a ban in any video game, I am interested to know how this works. Is there a credit system in place where my rating will increase back to normal after a certain time of clean play like a lot of other games? What language is foul enough to constitute yet another suspension or even a perma-ban?

In all forum posts related to this topic, the only solution ever given is "don't do it again". However as EA does not clearly define what type of language breaks their ToS, i am now in constant worry when I play that simpler remarks like "shut up" or "sh*t" can lead to yet another ban, if this warning and 1st offence do remain on my account as a permanent scar. This is to the point where am i scared to even chat anymore, which is hard considering Apex does require quite a bit of communication.

I only recently started playing this game 3 weeks ago and would hope to not get my account perma-banned such that I need to create a whole new account and in a way "reset" all my progress. Of course, the obvious answer to this is to "just be nice", but how feasible is this when I only have 1 strike left for the rest of my apex playing lifespan? After all, no matter how much of a saint you are, everyone is bound to accidentally have some nasty words slip from their mouths from time to time throughout their lives.

Thanks.

  • @feeshyy I think (I might be wrong) the reason why no one really knows about the specifics on topic is that the one giving out the bans is the ToS team and no one in this forum can help or do anything about your suspension/ban that’s why the mods and CMs always redirect you to a link. And yes, you shouldn’t have answered back with a homophobic remark. Screenshot his racial slur then report him. That’s an insta ban from the ToS team. It’s very rare that someone trashtalks using the chat in Japan so my experience is limited on this matter. All I can say is to always be the bigger person. I hope your suspension is over and you can learn from this experience. 😊
