I have always cared about KDR in previous shooter games I have played, but Apex is the first game I stopped caring.
1. If you queue solo, like me, you never know what quality of teammates you are going to get. And in a team-based survival game, your team has a huge effect on your survivability. Case in point, I had a game where I did just over 500 damage to an entire squad, but my teammates were of no help in this fight and we ended up dying. So if your teammates suck, it doesn't matter how good you are and it is going to have a negative impact on your ability to get a KDR that properly reflects your skill.
Also, I am very unimpressed by people with a high KDR who constantly run with other high-skilled players. If you are running with a stacked squad who can each hold their own, your KDR is going to go up because it is going to be easier for you to survive gunfights.
2. Knockdowns aren't always secured as kills. Example: You get 2 knockdowns on an enemy squad but then you get pushed by a third party and because you are weak from the first gunfights, the third party ends up killing you and finishing the other squad. And since you are dead, you don't get credit for those knockdowns which translated to kills after your squad was wiped.
3. Damage doesn't always equate to kills, because the kills are getting stolen by teammates or third party squads. Example: I had a night where I had 3 games in a row where I had 1200 damage, 1100 damage, and 600 damage, each with 0 kills. And it wasn't until about 300-400 damage into the next game that I finally got a kill.
This is why I would love to see trackers for:
Damage to Kill ratio, Knockdowns, Assists (plus plenty more unrelated to this post)But to answer the OP question, my KDR is somewhere around 1.2-1.3. It dropped quite a bit during the first half of this season.
@DarthValtrex update: I checked last night and my Ranked K/D is sitting on a 1.7 ☹️ and overall K/D is at a 1.3
I really dug myself a hole trying to just have fun 🙂 Next season we going for that solid 3.o
- @iBlockHead Lol. Yeah my Season 2 KD was 2.25 and my Season 3 is 1.5
@IAmTheMeddler all this SBMM 😠
I want to dominate on noobs again to look like a pro player ☹️ bring that young K/D back up
mine is 1.47 but i am a solo player and legit have to deal with teammates who run of solo and die instantly, teammates who are bronze 4 quality whilst im diamond 4 tryna rank up but again...tryna play this game solo is just suicidal for your rank
Ranked Season 1 - 0.73 (bloodhound main, with gibby on the side)
Ranked Season 2 - 1.51 (pathfinder main, with caustic on the side)
Season 3 Meltdown - 1.47I have 2 matches on console with a 9.0 kdr

My solo queue kd:
Season 1: 1.2
Season 2: 1.35
Season 3: 1.5
Season 4: 1.65
I feel that if I was in a squad of capable players that stuck together and communicated I could 1) spend less time protecting / reviving 2) be more aggressive as a unit to increase kills 3) be revived more & not be downed as much to reduce deaths.
Not sure but I (like to) think in a proper squad my 1.65 might be worth as much as like 3-4.l and my average damage of 375 more like 600. - @Srksii I feel so much better than I did!! Mine is .75 and climbing!!!
KDR is up to .49

@EA_DavidI had a streak for about 3-4 weeks where I was averaging 4-5 kills a round and occasionally in the 7+ kill range. Now I’m down to .79, i don’t know what went wrong. I still have 9+ kill games they are just rarer, instead of one every 3-4 rounds I’m only having a handful a night. When I went through that streak I had no issue not embarrassing myself with Predator squads.
My 2k badge on wraith I have no idea how I pulled it off. It was intense third party, forth, fifth shows up. I’m using the tactical to pop in out of the chaos, revive squad mates, kill people.. one mate rage quit after he got knocked for the 4th time. I understood his frustration though.. the path stuck through it with me. The entire time I was just trying to get my squad out of there. When it was all said and done we were the last squad standing and there were at least a dozen death boxes around us.
My Kd is going up a lot because of duos, i have a much easier time getting kills in duos. It’s a lot easier to pull off 1vs2 than 2vs3 or 1vs3. How ever having duos is nice, when I bump into new players, i just take them to duos. It’s a lot easier on them and me.
