As someone who isn't all that great at dealing with recoil I often use the Hemlok since it is easier to control in singe fire mode and has the burst option for cqb.I like that it has a bit more damage per shot than the other AR's and that is kind of what makes it what it is.Now Flatline and R-301 has the anvil-hopup, and the Havoc still has the turbocharger, although with a little bit less damage now.Below are some stats to compare the guns, I did leave out the DPS tho since the anvil-hopup only works on single fire.Hemlok: Head - 32Body - 20legs - 15(Bullseye - 35)Havoc (normal / turbo):Head - 29 / 27Body - 18 / 17legs - 14 / 13(Bullseye - 31 / 29)R-301 (normal / anvil): Head - 22 / 61Body - 14 / 35legs - 11 / 32(Bullseye - 24 / 61)Flatline:Head - 29 / 69Body - 18 / 43legs - 14 / 39(Bullseye - 31 / 75)With the Scout having double tap trigger it also comes pretty close to Hemlok I guess as it is a "burst", even if it is a short but powerful one.G7 Scout:Head - 54 (wiki says 60, tested in firing range and it is 54)Body - 34legs - 26(Bullseye - 59)The hopups are upgrades, and you won't get them every time, but I do feel like the Hemlok is left pretty far behind, and might not have been the most popular gun to start with.

@DrWizardo Hemlock slaps with a 3x if you hit your bursts. Taking away boosted loader is a bigger thing than people realize though. That extra burst meant a lot.

It’s fine but it’s outclassed by the other guns for its use. It’s not good for close range but good for mid-long range but I would rather have a G7 scout. Then if you want a mid-range all around gun, the R301 is way better.

Honestly, it sucks. A bit of a skill issue, and a bit of the fact that all other AR's outclass it in various ways, especially up close.

I've been running it for my number one choice for three seasons (with a x2) and I am pretty lethal with it. I am not that good at strafing but with the Hemlock it gives me the happy medium between easy-to-strafe weapons like a shotgun and harder ones like the R301 or Flatline. If you can hit consistently it's amazing, and it's even accurate mid-to-long range.If I get a x2 Hemlock on drop it's usually a 1,000+ damage game for me. In arena I choose it with a x2 every round except the first, when you don't have enough dosh for the x2 scope (I go for the Longbow with a x2, or a Volt depending on the map and legend).My ideal combo is x2 Hemlock + x3 G7. I've only been able to use the G7 since it came out of the care package really. Prior to that I really sucked with it,

@DrWizardo I have friends that shred with it. I personally opt for higher DPS guns. G7 is one of my favorite guns in the game its fairly versatile but it's not a very forgiving gun. Hemlock was one of my favorite guns when I was still newer to the game and still trying to get recoil control down. I think it's important to occasionally give guns with higher recoil a try every once in a while. You want to try and learn how to use them. One thing I have noticed is that there are different play styles for every gun in the game. Certain guns are for more aggressive players who want to push and get up close and personal in fighting. Then you have guns in which you want to bait people into pushing you. Just depends on your play style and how you like to go about things.The only thing that really matters is that you have fun.

@DrWizardo it is OK. I use it as a secondary like a marksman sometimes. That's usually early though as I'll drop it for a real marksman or sniper. Especially now that the Skullpiercer is out there.

@hayhor I'll still run it when I find it, just looking at the numbers and it seems to be outshined by the other guns.

@pandareno1999 Yeah, with single fire being potentially A LOT stronger on the guns that are already strong due to full auto it feels weird.

@Cheese9Man I can't land those beams with the r-301, but in close-mid range it works pretty well. I just dislike the light guns dealing so little damage per shot (not counting G7 and perhaps the p2020)

@HappyHourSumwur Yeah, depending on what you find as a second/first gun the Hemlok can have diferent roles. That is why I like that it has a burst. Also why it is weird that the other guns are really strong now as single fire.

@DrWizardo I love it, but primarily only use it for mid-long range engagements. I use it more as a DMR than an AR. If I'm running a Hemlock though, I usually swap it out for the Scout, now that it's back on the floor

In the world of assault rifles, 301 and Flatline are at the top for me. The G7 is a 'marksman' but it is plenty good and I will use it as a sort of pocket assault rifle.
A Hemlok is a solid Ok, and I hang onto one sometimes.
A Havoc is super trash and I will not use one.
