I have a weird button layout.
L1 (left shoulder button) - Crouch
R1 (right shoulder) - Tactical
O - ping
R1+O - Ultimate
Not sure if these count as unusual but I have sprint view shake and FOV ability scaling to off.

@Cheese9ManWhat the deuce? XD
@Bolted_Fault Not really unusual these days, but having paddles on my controller changed my life. I never had a scuff controller back in the day, but went ahead and got an Elite controller (Xbox) back when they came out, and I will never go back to having no paddles for any FPS games. I just can't do it, Lol. On Apex specifically, I have my face buttons set to the paddles, so I can jump, reload, crouch and swap weapons without taking my thumbs off the sticks. I adjust my paddle layout, depending on the controls for the game I am playing, and just save them as presets on the controller. Most of my aim-tuning is done via my controller settings as well.
- @Cheese9Man Lol yep those count I think! 🤣
Not unusual but I do per damage shot, not cumulative shot when impact numbers show. Per shot damage is far more useful for me.
I've went back and forth so many times on this one, from stacked to individual to cumulative
- @KelRiever How come you find it more useful? Genuinely wondering if I'm doing it wrong now.
No, personal pref, neither way is wrong.
I think it's that I roughly know how many times I scored hits. Per bullet keeps the damage per shot fresh in my mind and I think I just automatically sort of multiply. I also know from the color of the hits what kind of armor the opponent has so I already have an idea of how much total damage they can take (I presume full health)
When I have cumulative on, I find myself wanting in the back of my mind. The cumulative number often gets me overconfident/frustrated too in that I find myself saying 'I should have killed them' more.
If I'm relaying info to my team (haha, because that;s like 1 in 100 games I have a team), then I'm shouting something more like shield cracked or down or something like that. If damage, more like i say my number multiplied anyway. I mean it's also for me generally not an issue as spray weapons an estimate is fine, and one shots will give you the all important number anyway. As I said in the other thread, I tend to avoid 3 shot burst weapons.
BUT if they ever make the Prowler like they used to, you know, actually fair to good by giving it an autofire option, I'll be changing my mind 🙂
- RaginSam4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Bolted_Fault I just try to make everything easy to use. The more often it gets used, the easier it should be to reach it.

- @Bolted_Fault I use tap to use hold to reload. I feel like most people don’t use hold to reload because that delay can mean a big difference sometimes but I find it makes other things like holding doors while reloading easier.
