@warslagI totally agree with you. The looting system should be simplified and automated. Get rid of backpacs, you should be able to carry ammo for every type and pick ammo up automatically from the ground, have max 4 batteries, max 8 cells and so on and pick them automatically from the ground. Remove deathboxes and make the loot drop on the ground once you kill a person. Remove all atachements and instead make weapons on tiers white/green/blue/purple/gold. Remove all the different ammo types and just make it rifle/sniper/pistol/lmg/smg rounds.
This way people would actually take their heads from the ground or from deathboxes and look for enemies to fight. This is not loot simulator, it is a fast paced mobility based fps, but the developers don't seem to understand their own game.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@Tad844 I like the idea of auto pickups but can we make sure to make the amounts of ammo pretty large? One thing that always frustrated me with warzone was you could only pickup so much ammo. You did pick it up automatically tho. I guess this is one reason things aren't automatic. You can decide how many of each thing to carry.

I like the idea of no death boxes and instead looting form the ground. That's a genuinely good idea.
But I think that you should have all the loot you need when you drop. Just collect your loadout and play. Which doesn't realy make sense.
In Warzone they have the 'Plunder' game mode in which you spawn-in with your loadout, rather than building it from ground loot. That way you can focus on FPS play and you also spend less time being dead, as well.
Apex gameplay stirkes me as being extremely lopside in terms of looting versus combat for the vats majority of the players.
This is before we even get into talking about the complete lack of social interaction and the difficulty in establishing long term teammates and recruitement.
I just think the game is needlessly stressful over such a mundane aspect such as looting.
Definitely no more PVE stuff. I'm not saying it is inherently bad but it is certainly an extra distraction from what people play these games for.

Constant game play is NOT the point of a Battle Royale, even if it should be.
The main point of a BR used to be a big old fun game. Now...the goal is to gamble between your time in game and your load screen time, and have you buy skins for the price of a whole video game.
Respawn jumped on this band wagon and they were certainly not the first or the best when they did.
- reconzero4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Tad844 Well, you see it the way you see it, but I have to say that I think the developers understand their game very well. And EA's announcement to shareholders that the game is a cash cow suggests that most players don't hate the formula. What I don't understand is why players who crave a simpler and faster-paced game don't just go and play a simpler and faster-paced game, from which there are so many to choose. Including an arena mode in this very game. Honestly, if this game feels like a loot simulator to you then it's time for a little Halo. And trust me when I say, unless you have a legit adhd diagnosis or an IQ in the double digits, then you'll be back.
- 4 years ago@reconzero Apex has some core elements which elevate it above the rest, such as movement, gunplay, ttk. Once you've played apex, everything else feels like garbage. I just want the devs to stick to the fast paced fps game that apex is. But apparently they make more money out of it if they keep building on the loot simulator/ pve aspect of it.
It is easier and more profitable to add a new legend, a new weapon and a ton of new skins every season instead of fixing game breaking bugs/glitches/servers or the sound.- reconzero4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Tad844 "I just want the devs to stick to the fast paced fps game that apex is."
Sorry, not seeing that at all. The thing I personally like about battle royale is the flexibility it offers the player - it can be any kind of game you want it to be - fast or slow, hot or cold, shooter or looter. If you try to make it all one way and not the other then suddenly it's just Call of Duty with a different aesthetic. Or so says me.

Some of those large corporations have been gobbled up by even bigger corporations. These big companies use this producion capacity to develop video games as marketplaces for in-game digital sales. And they make huge amounts of money from it.
I don't think solid reasoning on how gameplay should develop to satisfy the player is going to ever gain traction with these greedy companies while they are making tons of cash from microtransactions.
That's why you can't just tell people to find some other game to play. Instead players should demand better gameplay from those who control the means of producing the games. I don't really see this happening and we all know that this has been a hot topic in the news with goverments deciding what is gambling in video games. But nothing has changed. We are playing a loot simulator because it seems to suit a greedy few. This is also why these games are so infuriating to play. It simply suits the purpose of the people who are making money from it.
Apparently the devs have had very tough working conditions as well. Because they're being ruthlessly squeezed while there's a lot of money to be made.
So I just want Apex, with its awesome team of developers behind it, to be developed to suit the players first and formeost.

I think you give very little credit to the player base to suppose that they will play a bad game for no other reason than to be able to throw money at it in order to have pointless cosmetics when they play the game they think is bad. Or am I over-simplifying?
- 4 years ago@reconzero you arent a psychologist, nor are you someone qualified to say youd be back for whatever reason.
youre sub 20 years old. stay that way. enjoy life as it comes to you. You havent established anyting to the point whre you can suggest people do anything.
