@Gabrielmojo26 I agree, I'm just stating that I understand the reason they've made the decision.Team play should be at the core of ranked,Its a competitive environment, it should also be rewarded and encouraged.
To me I don't see the fundamental problems of the ranking system being addressed. Mostly just the surface complaints of players, which isn't really the core of the issue.
The issue is at a certain point it becomes worthless trying to advance because the tiers are all effed up. You can cut the scoring system however you want, damage, respawning, etc. etc. it doesn't matter. You just don't get rewarded beyond a certain point.
This is not about getting to a certain level and not advancing - everybody reaches a tier that caps at their ability level at some point, not everybody is a secret Grand Master/Apex. But the issue was, and is, that at a certain point, you just don't bother trying because there's no reward, in personal satisfaction or actual in game reward, for advancing.
That's why people just stop trying. While this is all about splitting hairs on how scoring is done, without addressing the tier problem, the main issue won't be changed.

Ranked is all about teamwork and strategy. So if someone is going in there without a team it will be rough. If someone is going in there and not on the same page as their randoms it will be rough. It is a game mode that heavily relies on teamwork. Without solid coms and pings it will be a rough experience. It has nothing to do with getting 20 bombs or 4k badges (Which do not mean a thing considering if you do not touch ranked in a few seasons you are placed in lobbies where it is easily obtained.) A lot of those badges were also obtained by creating a smurf and playing brand new players. Other than that badges do not mean much. I would not think to much into a majority of them but the rare few who are legit just cracked at the game that you can randomly be paired with or against. Why I always say if going to play ranked it would be best to go in with a pre made who are all on the same page. Makes the experience much better.
- Gabrielmojo264 years agoSeasoned Ace@KelRiever Agreed, and this is where I struggle as a solo queuing player reaching Diamond, D4 is where the majority lose all interest, hence dumb plays, insta deaths, no comms.....making it completely useless for me to keep at it. P4 is always a struggle as well. I was really hoping for rank demotion to be a thing, but I guess Respawn has a different vision.
- Eshshshss4 years agoSeasoned Ace@KelRiever I would maybe add/correct a bit what you said - for me rank is irrelevant, in BR I am looking for a great experience from doing coordinated teamwork and outsmarting enemy teams.
For me the main motivator is/was the win. A great bonus for that effort was 100 RP.
Yet for people who go only for rank, badge, drive-trail, k/d now there is one motivator less to actually try to do teamwork or win, they just go for the kills and push everything public style and seeing how it goes with hopes of getting as high multiplier as possible.
More incentives to go get kills ASAP, fail, d/c, repeat = exactly the same what we see in public games.
As for the "boring" gameplay - smarter people will just do the same they did now = not fight till like 5-8 teams have already died so they get some points even if they lose their first fight.
So chances are now that after the first few zones a hell will break loose, not sure if that is any better, more fun than current gameplay.- Asmodeus5664 years agoHero+
really stop knocking the ideas and or changes and do be a bit more consistent.
Lets see what the changes actually bring about, could be bad could be good.
Make constructive suggestions, try to be a part of the solution and not the problem.
The game is about the win of course and team play. Like most of us and you have said. That should never change and like you said if you want to outsmart the other players and work as a team part of that is knowing which fights to fight and when not to fight. So playing for initial placement is never a bad Idea let some of the rash players/teams eliminate weaken each other so that your team can reap the rewards. I am not advocating camping but playing smart.
For us the community it is never easy trying to come up with and suggest good solutions to problems we see and or perceive.
For the Dev's it is equally if not harder to find a balance. They have their idea's and hopefully see some of our idea's as well, a hard thing to juggle.
Lets keep trying to make honest constructive suggestions and not counterproductive arguments. I say that knowing that sometimes I get frustrated and do not follow what I am saying and apologize for any future rants I may have.
Looking forward to next Tuesday (season 11) and all the good, bad and ugly it may bring.
- Eshshshss4 years agoSeasoned Ace@Asmodeus566 I have made multiple postes about my suggestions under various sections - QOL improvements, feedback, general discussion etc.
This post was just a reaction for those suggestions being a) ignored b) new policy being the exact opposite of what I personally suggested
Gladly TAD844 calculation is more accurate as if RP will be only KP dependant this game will die from lack of players or hackers.
- hayhor4 years agoHero@Eshshshss Why in your example of next season are you removing the placement points? I expect they are still there as tad mentioned.

@Eshshshss I think you miss understand/miss read the patch note.
There're only 2 changes in rank system:
1. Maximum kill from 6 to 7 (Good thing).
2. Change from 10 RP/kill-assist to dynamic RP/kill-assist based on enemy rank as shown below.
Everything else stay the same.
That means you can get more RP overall (if you kill 7 enemies with higher rank than you) and rank up faster.
For example: If you kill 7 enemies that rank 2 level above, you get 7*15=105 RP (instead of 70 RP, that is 35 RP extra ! ).
Overall, that's a good thing !
