Why am I bad?

I have 600+ hours in Apex, and have been playing since day 3. Why am I still trash at the game? I have less then 75 lifetime wins, with over 4,000 games played. Just over 1,600 lifetime kills.

My aim seems ok, but I always seem to die.

@TamyndrisWhat legend are you opting for? Guns?

What is accuracy like? If you’re not very accurate go for a spitfire. You’ll get out shot by other guns. But you’ll at least have some success until Your accuracy improves. It has a huge magazine so if you miss shots you’ll have plenty of ammo to land more.

Play bangalore. She is a good starter legend. Use the smoke to make exits and buy time. Her ult is used to buy time to run OR to split up a squad you’re rushing.

Wraith and pathfinder are the top legends but they can be difficult play correctly.

    This ^^^

Bangalore is fairly forgiving legend to play. To be frank, I think OP's issue is not using terrain to gain an upper hand in fights. Too many players out there have never even considered taking cover and kinda play assuming they could always outgun their opponent.

It pays off to bait enemies into a chase and rail them as they get around the corner etc. Too few players do this.

@TamyndrisHonestly if you can use the longbow effectively it’s a great sniping gun. Especially if you can land head shots. Here is a tip, I tend to dump my ranged guns towards the end of rounds when the ring is smaller. Why carry them when the ring is so small that the fight is going to be CQC...

Shotguns are a difficult gun to be good with. You have to be accurate with them or they are a death sentence. If you land all the pellets the PK can do 100+ damage, but if you miss you’ll only register for 30-60 damage. You also have to be on top on the player if you don’t have a choke.

Just keep in mind on This map the majority of the fights you get into will be in the short-mid range. That is why I suggested a G7, other guns can work but take some practice/skill to learn. If you don’t have a mid range gun, try and force them into a CQC fight.

As you build confidence/skill experiment with other guns, learn their weaknesses and strengths. When you start to learn that you’ll know how to counter enemy load outs. You also won’t be super dependent on just a handful of guns which will help you a lot on numerous levels. Rocking 2 heavy guns puts you into a position in which you can run out of ammo. You also are sort of stuck looking for heavy mags..

    very good point.

thanks for your hints <3 ...

  • @chrisragnar The individual skill ceiling of this game is incredibly high, it is nice that you tried to offer advice but a great player can make miracles commonplace. There is a whole lot more to performing well than team shooting and holding hands...
