Why are people against solo mode?
I love the squad based gameplay but I can see why people want a solo mode. What I don't understand is why are people so against a solo option?
If a solo mode were to be implemented just don't play solo if you don't want to play solo...seriously not seeing any issue with implementing a solo mode. If you want to play squad...play squad? The people who want to play solo...play solo? It's not like you would be FORCED to play solo. People aren't asking for 3v to be removed in favor of 1v. They're just asking for an alternative mode that isn't squad based.
I just don't understand why people are so against it; it truly baffles me. I can see not wanting to play it but actually being against it being added to the game is beyond me.
Because the game was designed around team play? Okay, squad play would still be there. You can still play with team play.
Because of balancing issues? Another non-issue that people seem to be caught up on. I'd be willing to bet a majority of people asking for solo mode wouldn't even mind having a generic character with no abilities specifically made for solo-mode to even out the playing field. The gunplay and movement on this game is very satisfying which is why people are wanting a solo mode in the first place; they want to be able to replace other games with this one due to the sheer quality of the mechanics and generally polished nature of the game.
Because there will be less people in squads? That's going to happen regardless if the solo players give up on the game. If they at least get a solo mode they will still be playing the game and it isn't like they won't ever play squad mode. If anything, a solo mode would be good to help players scratch that gung-ho itch they have so when they do get around to going into a pug-game they'll be more inclined to play as a team. Anyone purposefully going to squads would be more inclined to play with a team-oriented mindset because they could always play non-team oriented mode whenever desired. There would be more teamplayers in squads while the lonewolves have their own playground to tango in.
From my standpoint, it seems more like an egotistical issue. "Git gud, git friends u loser l0l its not hard to make friends, not the game for you, etc" vs. "actual gameplay issues, well thought out pros/*, etc.". As if the game cannot be built upon whatsoever and has to remain stagnant for the duration of its lifespan.
Contrary to popular belief, some people actually don't like having to meticulously interact with others when playing games. To people like that it makes the game stressful instead of enjoyable. Some people don't like feeling like a weight. Some people don't like feeling like a carry. Some people just don't want to interact with other people other than shooting them in the face and becoming champion. Is that really so hard to understand? Not everyone is a social butterfly.
Seriously can't wrap my mind around why people are against it being implemented. I can understand not wanting to play it, which is fine. Don't play it. But not being added to the game entirely? What...?
Can someone who is opposed to solo-mode tell me exactly what their issue with it is in a clear concise manner? What would be so game-breaking about it?
