Most people that play often have reached lvl 500 by now so I wouldn't be surprised if we see some progression changes soon.

This. They barely have the loot pool for these boxes to make the current system worth while. I think, like Overwatch, they should be granting an Apex Pack per level. Overwatch goes up to level 100, then lets you prestige 4 times...so basically 500 levels. They have the loot pool to support this though. Overwatch loot boxes aren't loaded down with common skins and stat trackers. I think at top level you keep cycling a level and getting a loot box, but I'm not sure about that part.
