I’m confused. My matches have been ridiculously more sweaty since the crossplay update. I’m talking about over 75% of the dive trails being Red or Purple. You definitely have the random premade Pred team that gets lumped into a low level lobby, but I can guarantee you that the bulk of the high skilled players are getting dropped into the same lobbies with each other.
Casual/average players should be happy, as the matchmaking is definitely keeping them safer than they could be had the lobbies been populated randomly.
In fact, there are many casual/average players that are winning and performing better than high skilled players, because those top tier lobbies are only being won by the best teams in the world. There are a bunch of Masters-level players with low win rates and KD’s simply because the public matches are so grueling. The game is actually punishing this group of people because they previously showed a specific level of skill. It’s actually pretty disheartening because you would think that in ANY activity, improvement = better performance overall— but this just isn’t the case due to SBMM.
But this is the strategy that makes EA money. It isn’t about what’s fair, it’s about keeping lower-level skilled players happy and opening their wallets.
