Yes, I'm talking to you EA. Since all your items are 1800 points or more of your currency, that $10 purchase option is absolutely pointless and you know it.
Oh, you mean its for your gambling system...erm, I mean "Apex Packs"?
Yeah, how about you take a page from just about ANY OTHER publisher out there and stop trying to sucker every last penny out of your customers...

but what if you lack Apex coins from an old order and just need a little more?
That wouldn't even be an issue if they made their items all in equal values.
example: 2000 points, 1000 points, ect.
It's a classic F2P marketing scheme. Post your currency packs in values of 10, 20, 50, 100 or even 5,10, 30, 50, 100 dollar costs(depending on the F2P company and how scummy they are) but have your standard costing item be valued at just below your 20/10 dollar currency pack cost. This in turn will mentally trick most customers into buying their 20 dollar or higher packs since its the only one that can buy them anything in the store.
So why is that $10 currency pack there at all? You may be asking about now:
Simple: Due to the standard item being just below their $20 currency pack cost, the player is always left with a little left over that is absolutely useless to them. This causes most players to look at their remaining currency frequently and then check the store only to see nothing has been added that they can spend that left over amount on only to find nothing. So what does the player eventually do in order to stop that "buring a hole in my pocket" feeling?
Buy another currency pack of course but oh dear, guess what? due to how scummy this system is designed, the player will NEVER have a 0 balance in their account and the cycle repeats...
I don't know how the Battlepass is going to work but I guess we will all find out on Tuesday.
