Why would anyone takie it upon themselves to teach beginners?

There is absolutely no reason why stronger players should be in the same team with weaker players and the other way around.

Trying to carry certain players is impossible --at least it is for me as of now.

Also being the dead weight in a team of stronger players is frustrating. Because their pace, timing, situational awareness, game sense etc. is that much better. So a weak player will feel out of place.

  • @Vdstrk You was a weak player at one time. You learned also from teammates greater than you by mimicking movement to help with aim and strategy. We all had to learn and we all played with players better then us and still do. A weak player can never get stronger without knowing what to do when to do it and why to do it. I help all new people in my party. Just as some others help me understand and learn things. Still learning to this day of new tricks and more.

For some people this is their first FPS, for others it is the 10th. If there's a SBMM, why isn't it working?
Now, it would be unfair saying that new players cause defeats, but is it actually what happens?
Slippery slope kinda thing here. Lose a few games, then get placed in a lower skilled lobby, and so on.
Essentially what happens is you are gradually being taken help away, i.e. team mates skills, IF SBMM actually exists.
I'm sure a pred player may be able to carry the team to success, but I cannot. And I've proved this time and time again, to myself obviously --myself only should be interested in my performance, isn't it?
I may defeat couple teams solo, but eventually I will get third partied.. and a stray bullet in some situations is enough....
Guess what? Next match is the exact same... with players who cannot help, even if they want.
I'm not good enough to teach anyone, nor I want to. To be accurate, I've never met anyone who actually decided to take the time to join me in further defeats to help me get better. Nor I would like people to do that. The opposite is usually the case. I got berated and insulted, bullied and demeaned every step of the way. And all of it wasn't actually a constructive feedback, because when you're told, "you suck" if not worse, there is really nothing constructive about it.
To teach someone is one's prerogative in this case, and what is in there for me? Defeat, because learning takes time, and a player, eventually, will see results x days from a given learning experience.
i just don;t believe SBMM does what is actually there for, i.e. offering a more balanced gaming experience.

it is fine losing but trying. There is not denying there are way better players than me out there. But when it is that blatant lack of will in trying to cooperate, without comms, no ping, NO EFFORT essentially, it is very frustrating.

  • I try to help newer players, it's a game after all and it's there to have fun. I had one game where a kid hopped on the mic and told us he just unlocked Mirage and most likely was going to suck. I told him no problem, let's have some fun. Myself and the other rando were knocked down and right away, the Lifeline quits and it's just me and this kid. He couldn't grab my banner, as the team was camping, so I told him no worries, I'll stay on and help you with some game play tips with Mirage. He ended up doing some good damage, placed third, but was downed. No worries, no getting upset, just helping someone go enjoy the game and grow the community.

    @SaltyHouse

To some it is just a game to others it is a job, and others still a source of income, while for another group it is a sport. But this is a topic for another day --it is not just a game when you spend several hours each day playing it, at least, not anymore!
Sure, the occasional game with the beginner is fine, who cares, right? I would not complain if that were so.
When it becomes every day, every game, then it is not fine anymore, and it starts to feel like harassment.

  • @Vdstrk it's fun helping new comers enjoy the game. Teaching them how to play and how to have fun with Apex is really fun. When I can carry them to a W they get so excited. I have fun with the challenge of carrying them.

When they get their first kills or pull off a clutch they get super excited. It takes the game from "this game is to hard and impossible" to "hey I might be able to do this" That's what makes it worth while to me.

We were all noobs at some point.
  • @Vdstrk If I have time I have no problem teaching new players. But they have to want it & be willing to listen lol.

I agree to a point. As long as it does not happen every game.
The way mm works, it seems to be happening way too often.
I think a higher level cap of, say level 150, would be better.
And probably even more realistically, a combination of stats, once a threshold is met, then you will play with the "general population"

@Vdstrk Well I can tell you right now that even the best players have bad rounds. Last season I got matched a predator (a current pred dive trail). I had to revive him 5 times in the same match.. The guy was just struggling that round. It happens to all of us..

There are times in which I struggle for different reasons. It happens to all of us, just because they struggle with you one round does not mean they don't belong in your lobbies.

A few nights ago I had 2 Master teammates, one got melted shortly after drop it put me and the other teammate into a very difficult situation. It happens to all of us.

I have had rounds with players I would still consider noobs, they pop off a get their first 2k damage badge and carry me.
