For some people this is their first FPS, for others it is the 10th. If there's a SBMM, why isn't it working?
Now, it would be unfair saying that new players cause defeats, but is it actually what happens?
Slippery slope kinda thing here. Lose a few games, then get placed in a lower skilled lobby, and so on.
Essentially what happens is you are gradually being taken help away, i.e. team mates skills, IF SBMM actually exists.
I'm sure a pred player may be able to carry the team to success, but I cannot. And I've proved this time and time again, to myself obviously --myself only should be interested in my performance, isn't it?
I may defeat couple teams solo, but eventually I will get third partied.. and a stray bullet in some situations is enough....
Guess what? Next match is the exact same... with players who cannot help, even if they want.
I'm not good enough to teach anyone, nor I want to. To be accurate, I've never met anyone who actually decided to take the time to join me in further defeats to help me get better. Nor I would like people to do that. The opposite is usually the case. I got berated and insulted, bullied and demeaned every step of the way. And all of it wasn't actually a constructive feedback, because when you're told, "you suck" if not worse, there is really nothing constructive about it.
To teach someone is one's prerogative in this case, and what is in there for me? Defeat, because learning takes time, and a player, eventually, will see results x days from a given learning experience.
i just don;t believe SBMM does what is actually there for, i.e. offering a more balanced gaming experience.
it is fine losing but trying. There is not denying there are way better players than me out there. But when it is that blatant lack of will in trying to cooperate, without comms, no ping, NO EFFORT essentially, it is very frustrating.
I try to help newer players, it's a game after all and it's there to have fun. I had one game where a kid hopped on the mic and told us he just unlocked Mirage and most likely was going to suck. I told him no problem, let's have some fun. Myself and the other rando were knocked down and right away, the Lifeline quits and it's just me and this kid. He couldn't grab my banner, as the team was camping, so I told him no worries, I'll stay on and help you with some game play tips with Mirage. He ended up doing some good damage, placed third, but was downed. No worries, no getting upset, just helping someone go enjoy the game and grow the community.

To some it is just a game to others it is a job, and others still a source of income, while for another group it is a sport. But this is a topic for another day --it is not just a game when you spend several hours each day playing it, at least, not anymore!
Sure, the occasional game with the beginner is fine, who cares, right? I would not complain if that were so.
When it becomes every day, every game, then it is not fine anymore, and it starts to feel like harassment.
