will i add cfg and get banned?

Regarding the Apex Legends game can cfg be changed to improve tap strafe utilization? I was afraid of being destroyed, so I asked. Thanks

  • @WoojieWooj  You should not do any thing externally that could result in your account being banned. Only use in game settings to fix any problems that you are having.

As far I'm aware, the usage of CFG's haven't been allowed nor have they explicitly said that they aren't allowed.

I can understand using them for performance related reasons, though I believe that automating movement like such isn't really a great idea.

From my point of view you'd practically create a macro, which would be against EA TOS.

Here's what a Community Manager has said about it:

Generally it's not a good idea to automate movement, the general guideline is that one player input should never equate to more than one game input, and in general it's best to protect your account by staying away from that stuff.

For performance config, it's usually best to stick to the in-game options where available. General tweaks to improve performance should be fine, but if hypothetically there were a way to give an advantage (improving visibility by removing intentionally obscuring effects for example) this would not be allowed.

Can't really say for sure if you'd get banned for it, though I personally would strongly advise against using it

  • @WoojieWooj to add to the above advice

"When you access or use an EA Service, you agree that you will not:"

"Modify any file or any other part of the EA Service that EA does not specifically authorize you to modify."

Adjusting config files has been allowed in the past in tournaments, but it was specifically allowed for in the rules for those tournaments, but not in recent tournaments.

  • @WoojieWoojThe question is what exactly are you trying to change ?

Are we talking about steam controller config?

Wouldn’t be to worried about getting banned for using a steam config 😉

all this cfg stuff is more or less a grey zone, heared ever of someone getting banned for cfg changes ? neither did i.

people do all kind of things from changing fov to 120 to make some weird resolutions so on.

i wouldn’t worry so much about getting banned for something like that, nobody cares about it
