If matchmaking is tightened, then everyone at every skill level, will experience “sweaty” lobbies (where in the definition of sweaty is: every match is tournament level). Some people think this is a good thing— the majority of these people struggle to perform at above average rate’s though, so it makes TOTAL SENSE that below average players want outcomes similar to above average players because the majority online gamers are selfish (in the regard that they want to win as frequently as possible).
To be fair, there is a small group that just wants to stroke their ego an only play bad players. I don’t care too much about them. I care more about above average players having outcomes that reflect that they are above average.
To put this into context, I have several Masters level (real Masters) friends that have lower win rates than people I know that have tried but never been able to hit Plat. There are people that don’t see this an issue, and that is problematic.

I'm about average and my KDR is around 1.0.
My issue with MM isn't that I have a KDR of 1.0, it is about the quality of my deaths and relative infrequency of success.
I go long stretches getting absolutely obliterated and then miraculously get an 8 kill game in a lobby that feels drastically different. I just want a more consistent experience and if that means matches are more "sweaty", I think that is fine.
Dying when I feel evenly matched and just did something dumb or got jumped by a good 3rd party I can take. Repeatedly dying to perfect aim murder bot teams with absolutely no chance makes me want to uninstall.
- @HappyHourSumwur I'd prefer this too. At least then I'd get decent teammates.
My guess is no.
To me, the game isn't as fun anymore as a result of the changes. My win rate is still a decent 25% or so, but my K:D is less than half of the past 10 seasons, which is less than half the fun. So if enough other people feel the same, it will hit their bottom line and changes may happen. I just doubt they care.
I guess it couldn't be fun forever. Had a good run.

I’m getting 4k 20 Bomb teammates 99/100 games. Both teammates. The wait times are between 4 and 8 minutes for a pub match, but that’s what’s happening.
And unfortunately, the outcomes are still not good because we’re fodder for the top players. This was semi-acceptable when the algorithm gave easier lobbies after losses, but that been eliminated. You don’t get easier lobbies after bad performances ( I know this because I’ve tested it; 200 intentional consecutive losses with under 50 damage and early elimination. Lobbies remain the same).
Are you not getting Masters and Preds as teammates? - @Axs5626Sxa5001 I'm not at that level so no I get people that do 40 damage when I gave 1800.
- @hayhor Yikes. So what do your lobbies look like now in:
-Solo queue
-Queue with similarly skilled friends
It seems that buckets still remain but they have increased the number of buckets and reduced/ eliminated downward mobility down the matchmaking ladder. - @Axs5626Sxa5001 Solo is a mixed bag roller coaster. I honestly think there are a lot of fake masters that have been moved to my lobbies. I've always believed that max rank has an affect on MM and that masters badge is hitting some people hard this season. But those people are being protected from your lobbies.
My games with friends are the lobbies you describe. Full of super players and 3 stacks. Those games are rough but because I'm with people I vibe it can work. - @Axs5626Sxa5001 I see it a little different than you, I am above avg I would guess with kds reaching between 1.7 to 2.2 every season while playing soloqueue ranked 95% of the time. And I don’t see why pubs shouldn’t be hard ? In the end you play a competitive pvp shooter so why it shouldn’t be ? If I wanna chill play I will a aingleplayergame

Isn't it just like it always was? Most games you get teammates who run around like headless chickens or just underperform. Even had this guy go "bro, it's just Mixtape" and I went "yes, it's mega competitive and sweaty, if you wanna chill go play ranked and sit in a tree". Bro, when you get over 20 kills on TDM and still lose... teammates just not doing anything.
