@RevenanT-G7it's just a good article that gives both sides point of view vs one basement dwellers opinion with an agenda.
That being said, if Respawn somehow succeeds where bigger developers have failed, they will run the risk of punishing those using other devices that aren't m&k and the bad PR they alone will earn from preventing those with disabilities from being able to play the only way they can.I've seen this nonsense excuse multiple times. Exactly what disability does someone have that does not allow them to use a controller but does allow them to use a mouse and keyboard? That makes zero sense.
If you can't grasp a controller how are you grasping the mouse? How are you accurately moving it? How are you spreading out your fingers for the wasd keys and reaching for the keys around them accurately for weapon changes etc?
The disability that allows you to do all this but not use a controller must be a very specific one....and surely cannot be wide spread.
A missing thumb or index finger for example. And you're right, it's not widespread, but for the few who need it it's allowed.
The safest thing to is make it native for everyone, so everyone has a choice to how they want to play and avoid a PR nightmare.

@DankToliet sooo you use a m&k gotchya...
how about we just leave consoles how they were always were... with a controller... with todays console prices can pretty much buy a decent pc at same cost, go do that with your m&k... they dont ship with a m&k they ship with a controller...
- DankToliet7 years agoSeasoned Ace@Jem450R fair don't use any other headset/controller that's not straight out of the box. You must play with 32" Samsung LED TV with the volume set at 13, your internet speed cannot be greater than 32mbps and everyone can only use white foldable chairs available at Lowes.

@Jem450RYou're totally missing the points or choosing to ignore them. I can pretty much GUARANTEE that you have a hardware advantage over me with either your controller or TV/monitor. How do you justify this advantage?
In terms of personal computing/gaming : consoles are the aberration for only having had controllers up to now. It's time the console market got with the program. Pandora's box is opened and if they come up with a way to detect the Xim, there'll be some firmware update that makes it undetectable and so the whole unnecessary circus will continue.
And lol at setting a PC up for the price of a console. What world do you live in? - 6 years ago

@WingmannedbroThe day Respawn segregates disabled players to only play against one another in m&k lobbies, is the day EA stock prices tank and will be at an all time low.
The safest thing to is make it native for everyone, so everyone has a choice to how they want to play and avoid a PR nightmare.I doubt squeezing folks who genuinely need a MKB input to play into PC lobbies will have any impact at all. Fortnite does exactly that, and it's fine.
And I agree, game devs need to stop with the archaic notion that only controllers exist for shooters on console. Native support for MKB has been a thing for YEARS now and still game studio's refuse to use it. Anyone who can afford a controller can buy mouse and keyboard. So there really is no reason other than orthodoxy.
With ranked in Apex, and having hit the mouseplayer wall, the basic message i'm getting here is to buy console mouse or keep getting creamed.
