Your honest opinion on apex packs and the battle pass items

I have always been disappointed with the apex packs

So long story short, I play on my second account since season 6 because I used to be so bad at this game that my first account's KD was 0.4 and it bothered me, so I created a second one when I got better to start fresh and actually grind for something, both accounts are way over 500 (second one at presage lvl 100 because I don't play much recently and have long breaks ) and I am one of those people who didn't get a heirloom and I gave up on it.

So every time I open an apex pack it think it is ridicules what you get with it so first time in my life I told my self I am going to buy a couple of apex pack just out of curiosity maybe it will be my lucky day, I bought 50 and boy I was disappointed, I thought if you a pay you can get something decent but nope.

I find it ridiculous that all I got was basic weapon skins, trackers a few rare skins for guns or legends here an there a few epic ones, and if I got a legendary what I can count on my fingers how many I got from the 50 packs where banner frames or hollo sprays.

Same with the Battle Pass, every season I look at it, it's full with trackers, charms, hollo sprays and voice lines, most of the gun and legend skins are ugly and we get 2 "good looking skins" for one gun at the end

If you throw money at the BP or the packs the biggest value what you can get is the crafting materials.

What I really don't understand how can trackers be a part of the BP this is a basic thing in an FPS game and now I looked at this collection event, a recoloured PK skin?

The whole system is nothing else just a scam

@Renegade_Prime86Packs are generally a waste of money, especially now. There is a lot more white and blue fodder than there was early in the game. Also since you probably are like me and others you only play certain legends so getting a gold item for one you don't play doesn't really give you a good feeling.

This being said I've spent a good amount and opened a lot of packs. Enough that each season after I get enough free packs I quickly own all of the new legend blue items and only get crafting mats for blues. For me these packs have replaced card collecting and other hobbies like that.

Battle passes are only $10. The trackers you get from them are free. You dont have to pay for them to get those. You get at least 5 or 6 legendary skins, more coins than the cost now, a fair amount of crafting mats, free packs and the reactive weapon skins. Plus it takes very little active play to actually complete them. I don't see how anyone can complain about a BP on this game.

The fact that they give you stuff for legends you do not have... yeah, I would not even give them 1 cent for a pack.

@Renegade_Prime86 Apex packs are a smart marketing decision, but only becase others have done it with more player benefit. Apex packs entice you with possibility and guarantees if you don’t get the item within a certain number of packs. They are a scam, but crafted in smart way. Whoever created them certainty knows what they’re doing. The battle pass is simply all marketing. Apex is losing money by offering it only for $10. However, the money it costs to buy the battle pass makes up for that, and if you don’t, the more you play, the more likely you are to purchase things. Unfortunately, with a game so heavy in monetization lacks the ability to stick around for 10 years like other games. The game is meant to burn bright, then flame out.

Apex Packs is a form of gambling. "If you open 500 then you'll be guaranteed etc etc". It should be "Get what you pay for" rather than "Pay several times over a controlled RNG"
No matter if $10 or $100 it fuels the fact that it is a gold mine to just add quick cosmetics someone can designed in few days and essentially make as much money as full price game off steam, which takes years to develop. Adding more characters and abilities, then more cosmetics. Rinse and repeat. Paying for virtual items for visual appeal.
"Support the developers" - Same as giving money to a landlord. I paid for Total War Warhammer 1 + 2 and ALL DLCs back in the day for like around $150. It showed me what I would get if I bought it all. Nice and simple.
Would be better for people to choose the exact cosmetic they want and choose to pay exactly that. No RNG "Oh buy some more packs, you might get it on next one". This has turned into a casino.
Like a casino you start off small. What's another $10,,,then another $10. Adds up. That's how gambling works.
Let people pick a cosmetic they like, set a price. Then let them buy it whether it is $1 to $1000 whatever. At least get what you actually pay for. I'm sure nobody likes a lottery mechanic.
Kudos to Belgium for banning gambling purchases on game stores.
The Apex Packs are "controlled" RNG. For example if you go to a real casino, the routlette is a turn table and physically pushed. Would be hard for casino staff to try and avoid red or black when it alternates in each circular segment. (If you bet by colour)
Digital RNG can be manipulated. "How much blues and grey can I get away with giving people and how often to give yellow to entice them further"
Before buying Apex Packs. Jump onto your digital store Steam. Take a look at great games can spend money on. It's not about how much these Apex Packs cost, it is the principle and value of what you're supposed to getting.
If want to support the game at least use their merch store to buy real physical items you can own like their clothing. That at least looks fairly priced.
But yea $160 Wraith skin...

@Renegade_Prime86 Personally, I don't buy Apex packs because I have terrible luck, and it's literally a gamble. Plus, I have Legendary skins unlocked for all Legends and weapons at this point, so I just don't worry about packs. I get my free ones, bank the crafting materials, and carry on. That's just my preference though

On the Battle Pass, I honestly have no complaints about it. Of course there are plenty of skins/trackers/quips etc, that I don't necessarily care for/use, but I look at it this way: I bought the BP for $10, and I have used the free Apex coins from the BP's, to buy the next BP, ever since. I didn't finish the BP for season 1, so I had to pay for season 2, but I haven't had to pay for it since then. We are currently on season 15, so I have gotten 14 seasons of rewards (hundreds of items), for $10. I couldn't possibly find a way to complain about that, Lol. I don't buy individual skins because they are overpriced on any game these days, but $10 for basically endless rewards, including reactive weapon skins every season? Sign me up!

For me, packs = no. BP = yes

@Renegade_Prime86 I've spent quite a good amount of money in the game, but the last time i did i think it was for Valk's heirloom if remember correctly, so a lot of time ago. Ever since they started introducing Collection events with prestige skins as a reward i reduced the money spent by a lot. Now i'm not buying anything, in fact i've only crafted two items from the current and the last event. I mean most of the items of the current collection event are either banners, dropship animations or emotes. How can you charge 24$ for an emote? That's ridiculous imo.
Considering also that i've got all the heirlooms i was interested, i don't think i'll buy any other one, maybe Horizon's one, but it has to be very good.
As for the BP, i agree that it has some useless stuff and it could be better, but overall it's good because it's cheap compared to all the other things in the game.
So yeah, skins are way overpriced if you ask me, but as long as people will keep buying them, this won't stop.
@hayhor Let's hope that this season's BP was an exception then, because i can see them putting reactive skins as a CE final reward, and normal epic skins in the final level of the BP. It all depends on how this CE goes for them.

@Renegade_Prime86 Like most of the micro transactions in Apex, packs are just not a good value. Skins cost $20 and the chance you'll get something gold for a legend you use is extremely powerful for packs. I like emotes, voice lines, and skins for legends and weapons I use. I haven't gotten heirloom shards yet and I've been playing since S8. Definitely not paying what it would take to earn one in a collection event either.

TL:DR - Packs are mostly not worth it.

@Renegade_Prime86 I personally as someone who use to buy everything that would come I have stopped buying things. It has been a good year since I've invested in apex mostly because none of the event rewards or even battle pass rewards fit my taste of style. I feel the design of skins and other things are just nowhere near as good as they were in the past. I did not even buy the battle pass this season due to the reasons I named. I don't even use my crafting mats on things that I would get for free from those mats.

Hopefully they come out with some wicked good-looking skins in the future.

I never spent a dime on it. It's an online only "Game as a Service." I can't actually "own" my purchase. It exists only so long as they decide to keep the servers up. There is no single player content I can do offline should they choose to do so.
Frankly, Apex Packs and the entire concept of loot boxes should be illegal.
