@awhat1984 Just chiming in because I'm having the same issue as well after this last update (9/22). I was playing and streaming just fine the day before, on my setup i'm usually around 140-150 frames and able to stream with no issue. After the update i get CPU spikes to 90-100%, i show 0 dropped frames or slow frames when streaming however in game i can't get anything above 80fps and then somtimes it just completely shuts down and locks me out so i have to force restart.
I've down the following "fixes" I've read online but neither have worked.
1. Went to Steam and did the "verify integrity of game files". I was told this is a repair method. I've also done the same "repair" with the games anti cheat program that's in your program files. also no fix.
2. I read if you right click the main .exe file and run as admin, this could also fix it - no luck on my end.
3. There was another post where someone from EA said you have to mess with some core settings for your cpu? no thank you. Again the game was fine on Tuesday, there was an update, and then it broke. There is literally nothing that should be done that in depth to get a game working again.
I found this thread here, I will be going through the steps to see if anything fixes it, oddly enough it seems like the firing range seems to be working just fine- 140 frames, even when playing with a buddy of mine in there to kill some time.

@Nazvil86968 @awhat1984 @Meatball-Slay3r @Sxaq @xxhaloepicxx we have seen running a windows file checker has helped or trying a new windows account with admin rights.

I ran both command prompt functions included in the article that you linked. Neither of them helped with the issue. Any other fix you could recommended? Is a solution being looked for with how many people have this issue?
- 4 years ago@Sxaq Just got home and was gonna finally get a chance to follow the steps provided above. Bummed it didn't work out for you- i'll let you know. But I agree, a fix on EA/Respawn's side needs to be taken care of, again the fact that it worked Tuesday completely fine then became unplayable after the update on 9/22 means its the game that's the issue- not people's pc's. But i'll go ahead and run through the steps and report back here, hopefully there's some good results from it.
- 4 years ago@EA_Atic Hey Atic, thanks for the reply. I was finally able to follow the how to you posted, ran both checks - started with the Deployment Image Servicing and Management (DISM) tool which found 0 issues (as per the link you posted, as I'm on windows 10). Then i did the System File Checker, also 0 issues. Either way after doing this I ran the game to see if anything changed, just in case- no change.
Then I created a new user acct with admin rights- took a while to get it all setup but tried to finally launch apex- and same outcome unfortunately ☹️
Hoping the team has some sort of update coming before the next season, kind of a bummer since Apex is the only game I play and made the switch to PC for this past July- 2 months in and now I can't even play it. I know y'all are probably working on on a fix, just a bummer. Thanks for the help either way- too0ld4thi54 years agoRising Scout
Hey @Nazvil86968
If you look around all of the forum, you will notice most of the players are talking about Nvidia cards.
Very seldom AMD cards. If have AMD cards, it is solvable. Do you want buy mine?
Even the Mods here talks about Nvidia. They don't like AMDs.
Just JOKING and yes I am using AMD gpus RX470. Yes old 1s.
CPU 100% usage, yes, solved it but not stuttering(sometimes but not always).
Method:
Do everything that was said in this forum(usually not much help).
I watched this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C7oF-rQWZfw
Launch Apex and go into Firing Range. Stay there for 15-30mins.
You can alt+tab and use your Task Manager to monitor CPU usage.
Or you can use your FPS overlay.
My method may not work on you because your system is not same as mine.
Why I go into firing range because I get alot of rendering lag(CPU usage cause this).
IF CPU usage goes 100%, u can get crash, lag, stuttering and so on...pretty much the cause of all problems.
