71 GB INSTALLING ON PC STEAM?

71 GB?

I am on Steam PC and I have an update that consists 13 GB. HOWEVER, there is something going on called patching which is installing 71 GB into my harddisk. THERE is NOMORE space on my harddisk. What is this and how do I skip this? there is no way for me to empty my harddisk for apex to install 71 extra gb when it is already installed.

@Krazimo There is not a way to skip the patching phase. When a game gets an update it will download the updates, then integrate the files into the game a few different things can determine how fast it can get through the process.

The issue for me is that the update is not starting because of the patching thing, and that patching/installation is consuming extra disk space whereas my disk does not have 71 gb to spare.

Hey @Krazimo Thanks for the update, the extra space need is meant to be temporary as the patch integrates new files and replaces old ones, Do we have the ability to move large no essential files (like photos, videos, etc) to another location or cloud system? If not we don't have a way to remove this process or cut into it, A reinstall might help if we can't get space to patch.

@Krazimo Wanted to check if you were able to find extra room, or a work around to this?
  • It's the 4th time that this occur always just after the "big" update: your fully bugged launcher doesn't recognise that on the SSD where is installed Apex Legends, I still have more than 100GB free......It download what seems to be useless during 48 minutes, to finally pop up a message that my disk is full which is not the case...

When do you plan to fix it ? Before of after the 10th "big update" ???
