97%-99% GPU Usage Causing Noticeable FPS Drops

Computer:
-nvidia geforce gtx 1070
-ryzen 5 5600x 6-core
-16 gbs ddr4 ram 3000 mhz
-all settings low

-fullscreen

-144hz monitor

-latest driver

I have been having this problem recently that once my GPU hits between 97-99 usage, my frames will drop by a significant amount. I have been tweaking a lot of the settings in game, background apps, turning off whatever is not needed, nvidia control panel to reduce the gpu load with no luck in the percentage change. The most my frames will drop is when I am within a Gibby ultimate, where my frames will drop to around 70 fps. When my GPU is not within 97-99 usage, I have a constant 144 fps. I've also seen that having the GPU usage around that percentage is fine for the most part unless it is shown as a problem. Being in the menu, the usage is around 90% which I think is probably not supposed to be that high in the menu.

Does anybody have any solutions so that my GPU does not reach between 97-99%? Or possibly it is something else that I am not aware of?

Try reducing the in-game graphics quality settings and/or playing at a lower resolution.

    Thanks.

  • Hello, I already have all my settings at the lowest even though thats what I always have them at. I am pretty sure it has nothing to do with lowering the resolution because I have been fine playing 1920x1080 since the game came out. Not sure why the usage instantly spikes to around 95-100 even in the lobby, in game or the firing range.

Any other games I play do not have my GPU usage spiking up to 100% for basically anything I am doing when in Apex. Is there any possible way for me to find out the specifics of why Apex is running like this all the time? Could it be the nvidia drivers?
