99% packet loss freeze frame battle royale issue

Hi there.

Recently, some of my friends and I have been experiencing a strange glitch. Occasionally, whenever we load into an apex legends battle royale game (whether it be pubs or ranked), the game will run like a slideshow. I will have 1000 ping, 99% packet loss, 0 choke. However, moving parts of the world (e.g lava) will run smoothly, it’s just that I cannot see where I move for 20s at a time, because it’s essentially a freeze frame.

This isn’t an issue with my network. I never ever lag in any other games or this game besides when this glitch is occurring. I have consistent 300mbps download and 50mbps upload, Nat Type 2 ( on PS5). My network doesn’t drop out during this, and I’m still always connected to the game servers anyway.

Im not sure how or why this is happening, but I hope it get resolved soon.

    It would be impossible to say @Xx_DruGru_xX, if the issue starts again then the best thing to do is to speak with your ISP and see what they can recommend.

    Hi @EA_Darko .

    Unfortunately, my laptop doesn't have an ethernet port, so I did the UO trace on my wifi instead. I assume that you could take this into account and assume lower ping/ higher consistency, but the wifi isn't too inconsistent anyway.

    Hey @Xx_DruGru_xX your UO Trace is good but you do have an issue with one hop where your Ping best/worst is over 100ms in difference. It may not seem like much but would be cause for concern.

    Hi @EA_Darko ,

    Do you feel this ping difference would be mitigated with my ethernet on PS5 rather than wifi on my laptop? If not, I will look into sorting it.

    I would like to add that I haven't had this issue in over a week, if it makes any difference to anything.
