AMD Fx 6300- Crash Solution

Hello,

I know many have been crashing lately so I wanted to at least shed some light on how I resolved my crashing issue.

First, when starting your computer access BIOS. When your computer is starting there should be a hot key for this. You will want to go to your processor core settings and make sure enabling additional cores is active. Save and exit bios.

When your computer loads, go to the start menu and type in MSConfig, then go to the boot option.  Click on advanced settings and check the box that says number of cores, and change to “6”

Restart your computer and keep in game settings on low. For me this fixed my crashing for good. I hope this helps you 😇

@Diversions29  Hi, thanks for posting the steps that work for you. What number of cores were you using? Notably, some players have found that decreasing their number of active cores helped.

Anyway, disabling/enabling cores in the bios is a bit advanced for some, and we've found that the steps in this thread can help FX 6300 folks with crashing issues: https://answers.ea.com/t5/Technical-Issues/Possible-ea-server-timeout-fix-fx-series-works-in-game-too/td-p/7534180 Hopefully that'll help some folks not as comfortable with making BIOS changes.

  • Hello @EA_David ,

Originally I had 4 cores active. After the change I have played for a few days for hours at a time and have not crashed once. There are definitely a wide variety of causes, so I agree I wouldn't suggest BIOS changes for people who are not knowledgeable on it. Thank you for posting the other alternatives as well 😃
